Wonder what Pops was advising Dan to do with this kind of opportunity?

This is all overly dramatic. Simple yes or no man. Lol

Full presser at UConn just to leave would be pretty wild to me.

Final call - If he just makes a statement then he is out. If it’s a press conference he stays.

As I told you before that JJ is already made a commitment to become a coach after the finals .
And speaking of Hurley it was reported that Lakers offered him 100 millions

Wow. Yup feels like we got used.

I was thinking about it last night and the one thing I couldn’t wrap my head around is what reason anybody would have had to even leak our “pursuit” on Thursday.

If Hurley and the Lakers were both mutually interested, why not meet in private and then announce it to the media only if you came to an agreement?

On Lakers side it was too risky optics wise to prematurely make this seem like a real thing because the org has to know how difficult it will now be for us to stomach JJ or Borrego

Only thing that makes sense is that Hurley wanted to make this seem like a serious thing so he could leverage UConn

Ah well. Would have been a good get but we've got to move on to the next. Not a complete shocker with the way he handled it. If he was going to take the job I think he would have just said yes after meeting with Rob and Jeanie. The whole, "I'm going home to contemplate" left me feeling he was going to say thanks but no thanks.

If I knew the offer was 6/70, I would have bet on him staying. Thought for sure we’d offer 15 per at least.

when you are the biggest name in the world, seems pretty easy to “consider something”, just to conveniently take more cash somewhere else.

    again, EVERY. OFF SEASON. EVER.

Can’t wait for Klay to tell Orlando that he is thinking about joining the Lakers just to get a $200 mil offer from them AND Golden State.

I thought we might have a chance with the rumored 8 years for 100 mil, but coming in at 6 for 70 seems very underwhelming. Doesn't seem like an offer to "blow someone away".

Ugh, that’s deflating, now it feels like anyone else is settling whether that’s true or not or fair or not, that coach is going to come in being labeled the 2nd choice consolation prize just like Vogel was after we didn’t get Lue. We’ve now gone from trying to build a long term culture to who is the next guy to be fired in 2 years. Just when I had resigned myself to JJ, now I have to work up to it again. 6 years 70 mil is not a “massive long term offer”, the hell was Woj on about?

Final call he would have alerted UConn …. it’s cool no need for large police presence. Except for pissed off Laker fans of course. :D
