From what I've read (I think Pincus answered me on Facebook) the Lakers can ask for an exception and the league would be able to review it and make a decision. No indication that the Lakers are looking to do that at all though.

There's no motivation for Randle to do it unless he really wants the ROY award. Doing that sets his timetable back for getting his first big NBA paycheck.

I figured since he played he was ineligible. I know Blake Griffen didn't play his rookie year, so he was eligible the next year (and won it).

Don't think we have enough to entice them in a trade...maybe a 3 way with Dallas?

    Oops wrong thread.

No room anymore and not a good fit with Randle on the team. I kind of liked the idea when Aldridge might have picked them. Now I'm more than comfortable with Randle/Bass/Nance Jr.

"Serena Winters: D'Angelo Russell called Julius Randle a 'beast', Larry Nance was surprised by Randle's strength, Clarkson said he's a monster w/the ball"

"Serena Winters: Russell on Randle: "I feel like we're going to work the pick & roll, transition, wherever he feels comfortable, we'll be able to adjust."

"Los Angeles Lakers: Russell on Randle: "He's a go-to player. He'll be open a lot of times and not even know it. And I'll find him and make it easier on him."

"Clarkson on Randle: "He's a monster w/the ball. He's fast. He's expanded his game w/his outside shot. It's going to be fun to watch."

Pardon the crude reference.... but BOING!!!

I always thought Randle came into summer league last year out of shape and it showed at times during SL and pre-season games. Hearing that he still has all his power and now mixed in with speed and explosiveness, I'm lovin' it. Can't wait (Bart Scott voice) to see him without that 15 lbs of dead weight.

Man, raise your hand if you had a smile on your face listening to him. Kid is just like Russell, oozes with no nonsense confidence. Has "IT". They asked him the question about 3 or 4 position and he just said he's a basketball player. Lot of the stuff is similar they do for each position. "Just watch, form your own conclusions" when asked something about his game now. Love this guy. Alpha Dog. You can tell he's so pumped.

Man he looks and sounds like he really wants to get this thing on the road.

I couldn't get more excited about Summer League if I tried!

You can see he lost weight just by looking at his face. And at the same time you have Russell calling him a beast and Nance saying how strong he is, so the weight loss clearly didn't hurt his strength. If he's lighter and quicker and just as strong, dude will be a beast for sure, can't wait to see him play.

Randle looks hungry to get out there and play. Also seems to have an attitude of "ya'll are in for a surprise" about him. Love it and hope it's true!
