I think we should start off by going all in for Mikal Bridges on draft day. Some combination of Reaves + #17 + 2029 1st + 2031 1st + 2026 1st swap + another player (Vando, Rui, or Vincent) is what it would likely take. I doubt Brooklyn would want Gabe. I think they would likely want Vando. So let's say it's Reaves + Vando + the picks. Since Bridges is on a very manageable contract at 23 million or so, Lakers could still pur together a good team. They could pay Dlo up to 20 million and be under the 2nd apron or use the Non tax payer mle of 12.9 million and be under the first apron. Christie could get around 4 years / 28 million. Prince 5 million. If Dlo stays, the tpmle could be used on a Batadze or Drummond type. If Dlo leaves, the non tax payer mle could be used for a Valenucius or perhaps split up for a combination of a center and other player. CP3 and Dinwiddie could sign vet minimums. I would also explore swapping Rui + JHS+ perhaps a swap and or 2nds for a center. Potential roster:

    PG: Russell/Paul/Vincent/JHS
    SG: Christie/Dinwiddie/Bronny
    SF: Bridges/Prince/Reddish
    PF: James/ Hachimura
    C: Davis/Batadze/Wood

I’m not opposed to that move at all. Don’t know if the Nets bite though.

DeMarcus Cousins is T1 Finals MVP after title win with Taiwan Beer Leopards
Cousins averaged 25.3 points and 14.8 rebounds in the Finals, including a 24-point, 24-rebound effort in the Game 4 clincher, a 108-80 victory.
Can he still play for 10-15 minutes ?
    Sign him for minimum

We need size but your idea, is to have 8 guys that can play guard? Make it 9 with Lebron, because he's basically a big guard, regardless of his listed position. Bridges, Davis, Hachimura, and Wood, are PF and Batadze is a scrub. Overlapping talent and not enough minutes to go around.

I'd rather go in a different direction myself.

Buddy Hield will be forever linked to the Lakers, until he retired or Rob, is no longer the GM. Whichever comes first.

Yeah, I have zero problems with guys having some fun in the offseason because that’s what I would be doing.

with the news that--as i thought might happen--NO is trying to use ingram to get one of murray/young from the hawks, our impact trade options are just really limited this summer.

any midtier pickup will require rui going out, and you could argue in most cases that rui is probably nearly as good as whomever is going to be available.

i hope we're doing due diligence scouting the 17th pick, because i'm not sure we'll be sending out at this point.

Where did we wind up this past season with regards to this season’s salary situation? Are we still in repeater tax territory if we have to go over?

Yup- with the Laker tax, if we can’t get Murray, we might as well sign DLo to a $20 mill per deal, bring back Dinwiddie, and get that real backup Center.

I realize you need a partner to dance but the Lakers are playing a dangerous game.If Rob doesn’t get something significant done to show his stars that the team cares about winning a championship then why would they want to stay? Especially AD

There was a contingent here and certainly with the twitter folks that kept harping leading up to the trade deadline two seasons ago similar stuff. Like he wasn’t going to even try.

Don’t like it honestly. Just doesn’t scream championship level roster to me.

AD won’t ask out until LeBron retires.
Rob will try, but who exactly is that “star” that will be available?
Mitchel is staying in Cleveland and would want to go to NY if something drastically changes. Trae is available, but he’s not the guy to pair with AD for that next Chip.
    Who’s Rob going to get?
I’m down with making significant changes, but with what AD and LeBron make, our options are extremely limited.
It’s going to take some “star” to want to be traded here and for us to have tradeable pieces that are valuable. Right now, be basically have one legit player(Austin) someone would want and half of one(Rui) plus a pick in a very weak draft.
If LeBron’s ultimate goal is that next Chip, then sign a new 2 year deal for significantly less than his max and hope Rob can pull off a favorable trade for DLo and a separate one with the rest of our pieces.
LeBron’s galaxy sized ego won’t allow for that, so our options are extremely limited.

He doesn’t have to get a star.He does have to upgrade this roster. The only DLO trade that makes sense is to a team who can absorb his salary without sending back to much in return otherwise let him walk.Having the NTPMLE would be a valuable resource in upgrading this roster

Plus there's a lot of sellers in the upcoming draft, we might be stuck with our pick... again.
