gpII was 6'2" with a 6'8" wingspan, so similar in size. same with deanthony melton (almost exact same size as gpII).

both guys substantially lighter than bronny.

he's going to have become a deadeye standstill three point shooter to stick in the league, imo. defensively, the tools are probably there as POA guy, though.

edit: just realized the gpII stuff was in the tweet above after i looked it up.

Look, I’m rooting for the kid, and good for him with the numbers, but nobody shoots this slow in the NBA. If you aren’t shooting at game speed with like a defender running at you, what is the point of this drill? Just to see shot form? I hope he makes the league if he’s good enough, I hope he does well, but we better not use the 17th pick on him or even a high 2nd rounder. 6’1 shooting guard… eh, I’m skeptical.

Yeah, he's not a PG, so who really needs a 6'1" shooting guard? Not excited.

But I'm more interested in the measurement of the circumference of his head. Is his ego anything like his dad? If so, not worth it. But we gave Scottie Pippen Jr. some burn, and he found a role with Memphis. Maybe Bronny ends up on a 2nd tier club as a backup or a starter on a non playoff team. I don't see the long term fit here, but all eyes are watching how we deal with our stars. it's a move that may pay dividends down the road by being an overall class act even if we are lacking in several areas as an organization.

Reportedly a hard working no attitude or entitlement kind of kid … described as a “glue” player in games plus the potential on D. Hey slow release or not he made 12 straight in a pressure setting for him certainly. That can be speeded up.

If the Lakers plan on using some of their draft capital to go and add a star/impact piece, I hope they do some research on the draft and undrafted FA's. They need to be GREAT on the margins if they go that route.

Edey shooting 3s at the combine …. next Brook Lopez. He’ll be gone when we get there unfortunately.

I don't buy that. Falling to a superstar wishes to the cost of pursuing a title (eg not using the pick to trade for someone) is a terrible use of assets (that we already lack) and a bad view from an organization perspective.
I don't mind a 2nd round pick on him, many guys exclude themselves from the 2nd round and sign with the team they want so we can do that (like we did with Reaves) with a guy we want. They also have no trade value

I imagine some team may draft him just because. It'll definitely bring attention to the franchise and media will be all over it (summer league, preseason, first game, all of that). It's also a possible trading chip or even a Lebron's destination at some point, if not now. LeBron might also wait for the draft to sign a new contract. There's more to gain in drafting him than some unknown guy if the ones you're high on are out of the picture.

I actually think Lebron's hurting the kid career doing this. He'll go to a team based on a business perspective rather than basketball reasons. That always goes bad. But he may know already the kid wouldn't make it other way

Biggest news for him yesterday wasn't the measurements but the fact that he was medically cleared

sounds like woj doing someone a solid. note that the tweet says he could go late first round, based on woj saying "whether it's late first round or second round".

he's going in the second round. i'll be shocked if someone uses a first on him for g league revenue purposes.

Carter will never make it past Miami.Prototypical Heat culture guy.If the Lakers don’t trade this pick and 29-31 picks to improve it will be disappointing

i think like last year, we're going to try to trade the pick. but i just don't think it has a ton of value. but like last year, someone will fall to 17 that's good. it's on us to get it right this time.

Good for Bronny with all that happened this past 12 months turning his plans and expectations for him upside down. To go out there and do so well under that scrutiny and pressure and skepticism, whatever happens from here for him in the draft it’s a heck of an accomplishment. Pops has to be extremely happy for and proud of him today. Well done kid!

I have this feeling some team will screw the Lakers in their reasonable late draft pursuit of him just to do it.
