Salary was $14m, I'm assuming he's looking for the NTPMLE, which will be just over $1m shy of that amount. We'll see if we can access that spending tool again this summer.

He's big. He crosses my +250 lbs requirement for a big man acquisition this summer and can easily log 25+ MPG and start when needed.

I'm not thrilled with his defense and lacks some mobility. I think he gets played off the court or into a drastically reduced role in some of the playoff matchups...BUT if you're strategic with the rest of the group, he can eat minutes against Joker and Minny which is kind of the point of this whole thing. Like I said when I ran through the list of big guys we could look at who fit the size & price range we should spend on our next big man acquisition, none are perfect and all have warts. Some bigger than others.

i mentioned valanciunas as a target a while back, but i thought NO would re-sign him.

our problem is that to get the full mle, we basically have to have dlo opt out. and then you're capped at the apron. and we can't use the ntmle to sign dinwiddie AND valanciunas, so we're down to starting gabe at pg and hoping jhs miraculously improves or...cp3 gets waived and signs. not great.

Yeah he is not ideal. When we played New Orleans, I remember the radio broadcasters saying that they have no rim protection. Offensively, he has improved as a shooter, but still very low volume, hence the clogging the paint comments. But like you said, if the goal is just to get a big body to eat minutes against Jikic, then I guess this would fill that need?

Someone (a reporter?) wasn't expecting their Bluetooth not to be connected when they opened up their laptop. We know what they were watching in the hotel last night.

They were in the locker room area though doing the obligatory post game pressers …. right? That dude wasn’t going to ask a question or even pay attention and just went to Onlyfans on his lapper in the midst? And couldn’t immediately find the pause button? Even if it was outside the immediate area and that loud. Though I do see your point sometimes with ear buds you think you’re listening on bluetooth on a phone and it’s actually not connected and playing loudly from the device. Then you get yelled at from whomever in the room is getting annoyed with it.

So real live passion or recorded passion audible there in the locker room area?

I decided to watch most of the Denver/Minny game to see Denver get whacked.

Things did not go as planned, as Denver looked good, and Murray looked back to being himself. He has been clearly hobbled. We'll see if Minny can adjust, but it was a pretty convincing win today. Down by 32 in the 4th at the moment.

Denver answered like a champion. Series is on again. Let's see who's better making adjustments and if Denver figured Minny out.
Pressure on Minny for the first time of their career in this game 4

Strange to see this game called so tightly- Minny wasn’t allowed to play half the amount of defense as in game 2. Then again, longer series, more money.

Minnesota's offense was trash tonight. Refs calling tighter whistle or not, you're not beating any good NBA team with a scoring pace of 86 points. Denver did their part coming locked in with fire and taking care of the ball.

It seems Minnesota's offense may in for a regression since they were crazily good (than usual) for previous 6 games. I think a lot of it is that they rely on the defense to create fastbreak opportunities to score. But there's the question if Jamal Murray will recover because it seemed the 4 days of rest helped his calf.

i thought murray moved very similarly. he's never looked that injured to me. he just didn't miss all his shots in this one.

it was gordon burying threes that killed minny's defense while i was watching. he does that once a series.

Well, I do agree that their offense was trash, but that’s a separate issue from how the refs call a game.
Also, Murray returning to form was obviously huge for Denver.

They would still have,Rui,Vando,Gabe and JHS + probably 3 first rounders to try and find a DLO replacement.Im hoping Hayes and Reddish decline their options as well.

but at that point, you're robbing peter (wing depth) to pay paul (pg).

i'm ambivalent on hayes/reddish options. worst case if we don't want them and they opt in, that's salary to aggregate in trade.
