Nobody will throw a near max at a playoff P. If they do, they are really, really dumb and haven’t been paying attention.
As for BeerdoMcFloppington, I was going to say China, but I’m pretty sure strip joints don’t exist there.

I don't know. They got lucky Giannis got injured this year. Phil has cap space
The Knicks might get Mitchell, Orlando is young and has cap space too. The C Bags aren't falling off soon. I'm not sure the Pacers are in as good of a position, as it's being portrayed. Some of these young guys they have, are going to be looking to get paid, in another year or two.

Money still matters in small markets. Free Myles Turner !!

If he is naive or just want to get paid 50+millions
Jimmy Butler: « I want to bring Miami something that they have not had since LeBron »

Jimmy Butler said he wants to bring « Miami » champion title.

« I feel at home here. I really care about this city, I care about the people in this city. Miami accepted me. They wanted me to bring them something that they have not had since Lebron, Dee Wade and Chris Bosh .And I want to do it.

So as soon as I restore this knee, I will take care of them again, and everyone knows this », – said forward in an interview with GQ.

well, he's turned down non-max offers from the clips, so they better get close. if it's short-term, and i'm a cusp-ish team, i might do it.

*throws up in mouth* harden's late phase has been something of a revelation. he's been willing to subjugate his stats for the team. he's still a huge minus on defense, but he's also still a very formidable offensive player. he's probably still worth near his current salary, tbh. but will anyone offer it? will he be disgruntled if the clips play games with the market?

what if detroit shows up with a 3/100 offer? okc with 2/70? okc can afford huge payouts to PG or harden for two years, no problem. jalen williams won't get the big cash for three more years, holmgren 4.

maybe. boston was going to beat milwaukee, imo. giannis or no.

yes, but they have to gut everything but embiid/maxey to do it. they just had those two and harden, and one of the best FAs on the market is...harden.

they might. and i'm guessing they get somebody important.

    sure. let's give up?

disagree. there is their big chance, imo. bill comes due for tatum (and derrick white) soon. holiday and horford are about to age out. they're done after this year, imo. they're getting a ring this year and not again. ok...at best, next year. but that's definitely it.

you're applying this logic ONLY to the pacers. look at everyone else's cap sheets. i've already shown you how easy it is for them to keep their primary guys together.

    wish in one hand...

if there's one thing jimmy does, it's say a lot of stuff and then reverse himself dramatically.

What was the point of Shaq saying that?

Just congratulate the man & ask your question.

The Nets have no picks this year so I’m sure they will have plenty of phone calls coming before the draft.

It's rather wild that the Knicks,of all teams, are showing that, the 3 guard offense can win too.

But Josh Hart. And leading them in rebounds and playing 48 minutes.

Thibs is known for running his guys into the ground, but dang.

when all three players are good, it can work against some teams, sure. when one of them is pat beverley, you end up justifiably fired.

Source: Pacers file complaint to NBA over 78 calls, non-calls

Windy: Pacers submit '78 missed calls,' eye officiating for Game 3 (1:19)

    Brian Windhorst, ESPN Senior Writer
    May 9, 2024, 07:26 AM ET

The Indiana Pacers have submitted 78 instances of incorrect or non-calls to the NBA that they felt put them at a disadvantage in Games 1 and 2 against the New York Knicks, a league source told ESPN.

Pacers coach Rick Carlisle, speaking after Indiana fell behind 2-0 in the Eastern Conference semifinals with a 130-121 loss to New York on Wednesday, said the team had identified 29 questionable refereeing decisions from Game 1. The source said the Pacers then identified 49 plays from Game 2 that they felt were incorrectly called or not called at all and submitted them overnight to the NBA office.

Carlisle was ejected after growing upset about several calls in Game 2, particularly when officials correctly reversed a double-dribble violation that could have given the Pacers a key possession with the outcome still in doubt.

The Madison Square Garden crowd, which was elated when star Jalen Brunson returned in the second half after missing the entire second quarter to deal with a right foot issue, made the environment hostile for the Pacers, and Carlisle said he believed it affected the officiating to favor the Knicks.

Stanley was fine in 2022. Good defender but not an elite one. Couldn't really do anything offensively. He was not in the league this year. That 2022 team was so old, unathletic and miserable to watch that Stanley's moderate athleticism and genuine defensive effort jumped off the screen and made a lot of us (including me) think he was better than he actually was. Similar to Reddish this year tbh, although Reddish was legit good for that 2-3 week stretch early in the year. I definitely wouldn't mind him back as an 11th or 12th guy, it might even be useful to have someone that can somewhat replicate Vando's role on nights that Vando isn't available. But that's Stanley is, a deep bench option/ fringe NBA player.

interestingly, stan's hit on 40+% of his threes with SA in 22-23 and in the g league last year. hard to believe he's still 27.

    certainly worth a camp invite.

You watch Knicks adn Twolves and it's depressing not knowing what might have been with a better coach and Vando with a jumpshot. That stretch before he got hurt he looked like he was taking that offensive leap.

Let's some stuff get away from him. Some poor passes and missed/dumb layups but he was aggressive offensively and you can see that he basically brings what the lakers needed: more size, more rebounding, more steals, another guy who can handle the ball. Energizer bunny stuff similar to what Josh Hart does

The combination with Rui makes a lot of sense as their strength are different (plus you notice the pairing with Wood) - too bad the Lakers never got to see it
