You all are going to hate what I think. We got 2 to 3 more years with Lebron. It is pure $$$ for the Buss family and they are NOT going to do anything to mess it up. Whether we win or not, is of secondary importance. They would like to win, but taking care of Lebron is more important. When Lebron moves on, we will have a down period. No matter what. Nobody loses their star player and gets better right away. You have to rebuild and that takes time. The probable outcome to that is a huge shakeup to the FO. I would NOT be completely surprised to see Pelinka move on and even Jeannie bring one of her family members up, either grooming them to take over or simply helping her decide to sell the team. Who knows what will happen. The Buss family is already having trouble with salary cap issues and things are ONLY getting more expensive, by the second.

All this just tells me that we are at the end of our Lebron window of opportunity and after he is gone, poop is hitting the fan and we will be in complete rebuild mode. Even if we sign the best coach in the world, that coach will likely move on after Lebron retires anyhow. What super great coach wants to hang out for 5-10 years while we rebuild??

Who ever Lebron wants is probably about the best circumstance we can hope for and more than probably the most realistic. I pray we get a ring out of it but I have measured expectations.
