Yeah, if the heat offered like 3 firsts, Herro, Jacquez, I don't know if we could beat that.

Knicks got lucky they didn't fork over that many assets that the Cavs did in 2022 for Mitchell. I think Brunson is close enough to Mitchell, would make more sense to get a Devin Booker instead.

Bah you troll.. I respond..I'm bored at the moment.

I posted Shams article on this subject. It was pretty long.

Shams said nothing about a straight up trade, I don't know whoever said that. but it's still crickets on this, Reaves and Christie, being a price too high stuff, that sounds ridiculous now. However that's exactly where he left it in his article. That was the Nets counter, and we backed out.

Shams didn't say anything about the Nets owner, just refusing to deal him to the Lakers either.

It's also curious, that Kyrie recently said, go ask the GM and president, but not the owner. I have a hard time believing, that Kyrie Irving felt inclined, to protect Brooklyn's owner for some reason.

Shrug..believe whatever you want.Water under the bridge now..

But the further Dallas goes in the playoffs, I imagine it's going to come up again.

BI’s body has filled out “enough” I guess but seems like he hasn’t progressed much from his last year here’s level on offense and doesn’t seem very good on D.

He’s a good third option on a Chip team but not anyone to build around. I feel like he’s missing even a small amount of killer instinct. Maybe he’s too chill?
He’s got all of the offensive skill, but I think he should be twice the defensive player he currently is with that long frame and arms.

He seems to need the ball in his hands a lot to cook and that's a problem because he's just quite not good enough to be your primary offensive engine as elite defenders can still cause him trouble.

I would say if he could work off ball more and improve his defense he could still be special but typically players don't get better on D as they get older

Yeah, the “getting significantly better on D” ship has sailed.

yes, and i know why it will come up again.

yeah, i said this a few weeks ago. the writing's on the wall, and he's going to move. they're probably looking for a prospect and picks. which upper tier team (probably in the east) will oblige?

i mentioned the hawks with young, but i could see NO use BI to chase murray, too. and NO's got some picks they need to move.

    NO:

    murray/alvarado
    cj/hawkins/daniels
    murphy/herb
    zion
    valanciunas/nance

    atl:

    young/bogdanovic
    ingram
    johnson/bey
    hunter
    capela/okongwu

hell, daniels/ingram for murray with no picks changing hands could work, right?

It was Marc Stein who reported that Joe wouldn’t trade him to us. Ultimately I just think Dallas had a better package. I was for the trade despite initial concerns. https://www.si.com/nba/nets/news/nets-owner-reportedly-did-not-want-to-trade-kyrie-irving-to-lakers

Well, maybe I'm saying this too soon, but feels like Kyrie finally found a place that seems ideal for him with less media attention in Dallas.

Who would've thought he'd be the farthest in playoffs now from that vaunted Nets trio of KD and Harden? Kyrie looked like he gave up playing basketball at some points during that Nets tenure.

After the drama Jersey felt Kyrie put them through, I’m sure Kyrie’s preferred location was the least of their concerns. In fact it would not surprise if the owner would do anything EXCEPT grant Kyrie’s wish of where he wanted to go unless it was a hugely one sided deal.

this was likely a combination of the Laker tax plus the Kyrie tax.

Why trust this report from Stein when you can selectively choose which reports you believe to support a chosen narrative?

For the most important reason! This is the report of yes a Lakers tax PLUS a Kyrie tax …. that makes the absolute BETTER common sense scenario (see as example where there’s bad feelings toward Lakers Pacers and Pop with Spurs) …. than does the other scenario where almost done deal for not that much does. It’s not even close which logically more likely happened.

On another note, I think Tyrese Maxey is a player I would love to try and trade for sometime in the future( I know- Sixers have zero desire to trade him anytime soon).

    Antman
    Maxey
    Luka
    Tatum

One of that group should be a Laker in the future.

If Only. This is why IMO you pay the price until he’s really not that guy that he still is and bring LeBron back at max and don’t look back until the wheel does fall off. They don’t freaking grow on trees. He’s arguably more valuable to us as a player still than all those guys except Luka. I’m giving him the edge over Antman for his brain and other intangibles. Trade 1 for 1 …. or 1 for 1Tatum … hell yeah!

Minnesota play some D on Jokic and Murray from the beginning that Lakers never played entire series except for AD.
