I don't think the Kings are moving him until the deadline now. They look like complete fools, worse than us even. They need to be patient. I think they'll end up moving him maybe around the deadline if their situation doesn't vastly improve.

With Koufos and Stein, a trade is probably coming. but if things work out with their squad, they are a 8th seed team.

C'mon, Roland. How about "handcuffed" instead of handicapped?

Mitch is putting together a very solid team. There's a LOT of if's but if a good amount of them go right, we can be fighting for the 8th.

And then all of a sudden, the flood gates opened and Mitch snags every good player he can trade for on the market!!

And all is right with the world again...

Optimistic post: Reggie Jackson and Cory Jospeph just got ridiculous deals. I would go as far as to say insane deal in the case of Jackson. I would assume, even guarantee, the Lakers did not give Williams and Bass ridiculous or insane deals. I've been hating on the FO for days, but at least they don't hand out insane deals for 2nd or 3rd tier talent.

Real, aside from more basketball talk up front first, analytics and the team we have on the floor to put around our next major FA target, what changes do you want to see? Mitch is who he is personality wise. Byron is who he is or whoever the next coach is when that happens. Maybe Jim doesn't come to meetings? (though that could seem a bit odd) But he is who he is too. Jeanie, should she be there? I guess what I'm asking, is aside from learning from this bit of embarrassment over their not great priority in LA's first meeting about what was talked about first, and not doing that again, what do you guys want to see happen FO personnel attendance wise in these meetings? It would be good to have a position created or someone who would be good at it, already there, spend a lot more time helping them prepare each FA's "customized" basketball x's and o's presentation. Maybe that would be excellent additional experience for Ryan to take on? Seems like they got the message. We still don't have the charismatic closer in Mitch, or Jim or Jeanie, but what can be done about that?

We gave Sweet Lou 3/21 million which isn't bad at all for a 6th man winner. No word yet on Bass... I think it comes down to where the cap lands. If it lands at the projected 67 million, Bass will probably be absorbed with the Room Exception. If it lands at the 69 million dollar amount that's been rumored the last few days, I think we have something like 2 million to spend before the cap and he gets that instead... Hard to say though with Nick also being discussed going out... The cap thing is really fluid and kind of has my head spinning.

Hire someone who IS like that. I think Magic is a prime candidate. Go find a way to get Jerry West back here. Really Jeanie is SUPPOSED to be that person like her father was before her. She usurped the throne from her brother, which most of us were glad about. Well now it's time she comes through in her position. It's supposed to be HER relating to these players everything she wants/loves out of them. It's supposed to be HER selling us. If she cant do it, bring in someone who can. I don't give a damn about Jim vs. Magic, if Magic can pitch guys then get him in here.

Re: analytics- I think it's just time to work them into the presentation. I'm sick of hearing about how they're not that important to Byron. To heck with Byron's outdated philosophy on them. I want them in every presentation in some way shape or form. Prove to incoming FAs that we ARE looking at advanced statistics to figure out the best fit and the best players for each position. If Byron isn't using them on the floor, the FO should be using them for personnel and incoming FAs should see that.

We just need a stronger presentation. Dallas out worked us on the FA front with a broken down 26 year old kid. How does that happen? We need better salespeople if we want a shot at Durant.

    question for everyone

lets say things go well this season and we win 35-40 games, granted we prob don't make the playoffs since were in the west, but our rooks have solid seasons along with our role players

with ~65 mil in cap space do you fire byron and hire a new coach that will prob be more appealing to incoming free agents?

if you do, would you do it before FA begins so that you can get his input on players, or do you go into FA without a coach and then hire a coach that you think would be the right coach to lead the team?

If we win close to or over 40 games, and Byron has the support of the players, I think it would be an impossible proposition to replace him.

good point but then we'd have to evaluate whether we won those games because of byron or because our players played at a high level

a good example is the golden state warriors

mark jackson won 50 games and still got fired

then kerr comes in and gets the team over the hump and takes them all the way

some may argue kerr stepped into a good situation but others say jackson would not have led them to the finals

so there's a lot of ways things can go

the reason i asked that question is because some posters have soured on byron scott

imo i dont he's not that bad but there IS more to be desired (aldridge situation comes to mind) and a change in coaching wouldnt be such a bad thing
