no one ever doubted kyrie's talent. it's reliability, in many forms. which means it requires patience to evaluate the choice.

dallas was more desperate than us and made the choice (at a lower price than was asked of us, btw). we'll see how that shakes out.

Sometimes a gamble is worth the risk. Fortune favors the bold.

idk I feel like our problems are glaringly perimeter D and rebounding. Yes we also need more scoring beyond AD/Bron but even vs Denver this series we put up about 100+ points every game. We could use more 3pt shooting and a true 5. Kyrie would only solve one of these, 3pt shooting. We’d still get spanked by Denver with Kyrie.

Negative. If you notice the difference in this matchup, if D'Angelo just has a pulse, Kyrie gives you D'Angelo's occasional good games, in every game.

He'd help Lebron to close games out. Just like he did in Cleveland, here, it would be even more so,

We missed on that opportunity, we can find another option. Might not even be another PG, just another reliable player.

I’m of the mentality that we don’t need to worry about closing out games, if we don’t give up our leads to begin with.

Giving up leads is a sign of shoddy defense and poor mental resilience. If we’re comfortably up 7-10 points and we maintain that, AD, LeBron and co is enough offense. Kyrie solves offensive problems, but not our main problems IMO.

Jeanie should pay attention to just how well this “three star” method is working out for PHX.

Kyrie was always the piece we were missing since we went fishing for a 3rd star and went for Westbrook instead.

we should have done that trade even if it cost us AR + 2 picks. You're not going to get another player of this caliber with those assets anyway.

It's a case by case thing. The Clippers went for their third star and they're on the verge of tying a really good Mavericks team at 2-2 with Kawhi missing two games and being a shell of himself in the others.

Yeah, I can't help but think of the alternate universe where we actually got him. We'd still have Rui since we got him for Nunn and second rounders, it would be Kyrie instead of Vando, DLo and maybe Austin.

We have a trouble scoring down the stretch, but one of the very best 4th quarter scorers in the game, wouldn't help? That's totally ridiculous dude. If we had consistent 20pt scoring from Russell, we'd be up 3-1 in this series.

Why? Phoenix doesn't have LeBron James and Anthony Davis either. Our duo is better than their trio in the first place.

Who’s the last “three star” team that didn’t draft at least one of the “stars” to win it all?

All three deserved to be called out when playing poorly.

It’s easy to fantasize about a LeBron/AD/Kyrie trifecta but none of us have crystal balls and god only knows how it would have played out. He’s a flat-Earth loon and an anti-Semite to boot. He routinely misses games due to injury and crazy. In all likelihood we end up with another giant mess of a season.

What’s the significance of the drafting at least one of them part?
