saw someone speculate on lebron to GS, but i HIGHLY doubt he takes the mle or something to go to curry's team. like, that's one of the least likely scenarios i could possibly imagine.

my guess is that they guarantee chris paul's contract (lol, second time he's getting guaranteed for trade purposes) and attempt to move for a big fish. would they give up moody and kuminga along with paul for mitchell? if i'm the cavs, i consider it (after first trying to get mitchell to sign an extension).

if they can't trade, i don't like their long-term outlook, tbh. i don't think moody or kuminga is going to be a star. draymond is going to keep aging and being crazy, and wiggins has reverted. curry looked like he'd aged as the game wore on last night, too. at some point, that small frame will have taken what it can. i'm actually amazed he's still so good.

i think this is possibly the year paul finally shakes loose on a vet min, and i wouldn't be at all surprised if he joined lebron here. that said, he's CAA, so don't count out the knicks as a landing spot.

i hope someone (orlando?) offers klay a big one- or two-year deal like houston did for fvv/brooks last year. at the mle, he'll just stay in gs. remember, he wanted 30 million from them when they were talking extension. i'm guessing they're offering something closer to 20, so the mle won't get him. they're over a barrel in some ways, contractually, as if he walks, they have no good way to replace him. but he also stands to make more by staying there. i think they work it out and he stays, but i'm not sure that helps them much, as they can't then turn around and trade him unless they want to become the new C Bags.

If we move some of our guards this summer in a trade for a non point guard (DLO, JHS, + stuff for Bridges) then I could see it or if DLO walks and we slot everyone up a role then I could see it then as well. With Bron and POS CP3, that much basketball knowledge, you really don't need Ham unless he wants to hold the clipboard for them. Give Handy the title and he can just say "ditto" to whatever they decide in the timeout.

Would I be willing to take CP3 on the cheap if it meant canned Ham? Yes. Yes I would.

I think ORL is a big threat to snag Klay. There's been smoke around that one since January. It makes sense, they're a pretty solid young team. Just need some adults in the room for that next step.

GS should break it up and let Curry decide what he wants to do. I imagine that's ride out the remainder with them regardless of team quality. I get the feeling he wants to be a lifer. Shop the rest of it -- Dray, Klay (s&t), Wiggins, and the young kids because I think they've done too much damage to them there and they each need a fresh start. Tank for Flagg.

I would defnitely bring in CP3 for the minimum. CP3 to the Lakers just needs to happen at some point for cosmic justice.

i don't think they'll do it. i'm sure wiggins and paul's contract will be shopped heavily for win-now players, and i'm still thinking that green and thompson are more likely than not to be playing in gs next year.

The Warriors had some of the most amazing luck. A one time increase in cap there were able to get Durant. Then they got contract year Wiggins

Absolutely hilarious that no one likes to point out that Wiggins looked like a legit All NBA player who could match up with Tatum and Brown in his contract year. Outside of that he's about interested in playing basketball as me going to the hardware store looking for a plunger

I wouldn't because I've seen that play out. My interest in CP would depend on what it's instead of. If it gives them the confidence to make a coaching change because you have two of the smartest players in the history of the league and that IQ over compensates for a weak HC market. OR if it dissuades us from selling the farm for Trae. Instead of cobble what PGs we keep + a CP band-aid for Bron's final year and then reasses the following off season when he retires.

no thanks to chris paul. he's too old and will for sure miss extended time with injuries here. i would gladly take klay for cheap though

depending on how competitive the west is again next season, i could see GS still contending for a play in spot as long as curry stays healthy. their main problem is that they don't have anything to make a trade for another star, hence why i could see them drafting bronny in an attempt to get lebron there

paul's never been a minus player, and he's likely to be very cheap if we did get him. thompson is only coming if we pay more than we should, and he's basically been a minus player for two years now.

if i'm a team like orlando with short-term money to burn and a need for shooting and veteran leadership, i may overpay for thompson for a couple years. not us, though.

in terms of trades, gs has their 26 and 28 firsts to move, in addition to chris paul's 30 million in expiring money. i think just those three things nabs a jerami grant level player, right? i think this is the route they go. keep thompson at something close to what he turned down. return him, curry, green, looney, moody, and podz and see what paul/wiggins/2frps can get you on the trade market. maybe consider moving kuminga with some of those for a big difference maker (my money there would probably be on KAT--the wolves have payroll issues).

Want to be clear here. It seems we're determined to do one thing this summer and that's
    [IMG]

Whether that's retaining Ham, going the 3rd star route and/or giving up irreplaceable assets of ours in that endeavor.

Mitchell is the only one who I'd be on board with and even then, teams are going to ask for the farm -- Austin, all the picks, swaps, friendly matching salary, etc.

CP for the min is already being floated

It's the lesser of such evils due to the limited assets required and temporary nature of the marriage.

You say that like it's a bad thing. I think CP the assistant coach is more valuable than CP the player. He can be this summer's favor like Cam was last summer. Since Ham has never coached him, don't have to worry about him starting him over more deserving players. Might be some concern of Ham playing him as backup PF in 4 guard lineups, but that's a worry for another day.

Imagine throwing away a career for 20 grand.

He didn't bet on games he played BUT shared and manipulated his medicals for his friend(s) financial gains. Which is worse.

Can't we just get Rondo to be an assistant than CP2?

    :LLLLLebronsniveling:

CP looked way more washed than Klay. I thought he was supposed to be a consistent bench scorer/leader and be better than Jordan Poole?

What the hell we already did Westbrook and Beverley after their history. But agree with @Bryant just do Rondo .... and screw C. Paul in the ear.

    He actually bet millions
Toronto Raptors center Jontay Porter owned and operated a VIP account at FanDuel in Colorado that wagered millions of dollars in total from 2021 to 2023, multiple sources with direct knowledge told the Action Network.

One of those sources said FanDuel did not accept any wagers on the NBA or college basketball from Porter, whose brother, Michael Porter Jr., is a pivotal member of the Denver Nuggets team that won the NBA championship in 2023.

Porter allegedly placed over 1,000 wagers at the sportsbook. “He was firing all of the time,” a source
    said.
During this time, Porter operated a Discord account that provided stocks, crypto and, occasionally, gambling advice for a monthly subscription of $49.99.
league also found that while Porter was in the G League with the Raptors 905, he bet $54,094 on NBA games using an associate's betting account, including three Toronto Raptors games.
