Took about 2 weeks after he started running last time.

I'm still hopeful he can return for a post season run. It would be such a lift for us.

Well if he comes back...is he taking Prince's minutes? Reddish? Some combination of the two?

I just don't want him impacting Rui's minutes - knowing Ham he'll find a way to f*** that up

I thought they coexisted pretty well in the playoffs last season. It depends on the matchups.

Buha stating Lakers targeting the first week of April for Vando to return.

May you take all of Princes minutes ASAP

Lakers about to have a very scary 9 man playoff rotation. Starter plus Dinwiddie, Gabe, Vando, and Hayes.

May I not have to watch Prince and Max anymore

Sounds surprisingly optimistic, like out of nowhere, but that would be fantastic news. Do you have a link?

Jovan Buha reveals Lakers’ target date for Jarred Vanderbilt’s return

Little by little, things may be starting to fall into place for the Los Angeles Lakers as far as a possible postseason run.

Even though they went down to the Indiana Pacers on Friday while scoring a season-low 90 points, they have won seven of their last 10 games. They’re in ninth place in the Western Conference, and they trail the eighth-place Sacramento Kings by just 1.5 games, which suggests they could end up moving forward in the standings.

Guard Gabe Vincent, who has played in just five games this season due to a persistent knee ailment, seems to be very close to finally returning. Meanwhile, forward Jarred Vanderbilt has been gradually ramping up his activity after spraining his foot about two months ago.

According to Jovan Buha, a Lakers beat writer for The Athletic, during a recent question and answer session, the team is targeting sometime in early April for Vanderbilt’s return (h/t Lakers Daily).

“From what I’ve heard, the Lakers are targeting early April,” Buha said regarding Vanderbilt’s potential return. “I don’t have a concrete date in terms of is that April 2nd? Is that April 9th? But sometime within that first week to week and a half of April, the Lakers are trying to get Vando back. The season ends on April 14th, so they are trying to get him back to get at least three or four games under his belt. One good sign is he’s been traveling with the team.”

The Lakers have been missing Vanderbilt’s ability to effectively guard players at multiple positions, hit the boards, run the floor in transition and provide them with energy and intensity. He had already missed the last several weeks of this season with heel bursitis, and he had been just starting to hit his stride at the time of his foot injury.

An early April return would leave him with little time to get back in game shape and rhythm before the start of the postseason. But of course, L.A. would much rather have him back at that point than not have him come back at all this season.

As long as I hear a timeline similar to “just two weeks away,” I’m comforted.

At least he’s making progress with no setbacks. We’ll need him.

Hmm idk if I want Vando coming back in a do or die play-in game scenario because I reallyyyy don't trust Ham with the rotations. He's already messing up the rotations playing Gabe too many minutes, like if Vando coming back means less minutes for Gabe and Cam, then yes let's bring him back. But my fear is that he's going to take minutes away from Rui. I'd rather play the following rotation in the playoffs:

AD Bron Rui Reaves DLO Vando Hayes Dinwiddie

8-man rotation, everybody gets minutes, and ONLY way Gabe should come in is if DLO is having an off game on offense and is stinking it up defensively.

Thing with Vando is he doesn't need to provide much offense (compared to a guy like Vincent) to provide help. So his immediate impact should be a positive vs someone like Gabe who is taking a long time to ramp up

should be, but it didn't seem that way when he first came back. His impact was over a month later, so I'm not sure we should expect anything different. Maybe he needs time to get his timing and rhythm.
