There really is no reason for us to run Kobe into the ground anymore, plenty of guys who can score and create their own shots.
Seraphin Limited offensive game (but good enough FT shooter that he's not one of THOSE guys), unimpressive rebounder for his size, but he's a so-so shot blocker and a wide body. He has a decent shot - hit 47% of shots from 3-10' last year, 44% from 10-16', and 46% from 16 to the arc.
I think that they'd like a vet pg so that clarkson can stay at sg but we'll see what the FO comes up with As for kelly/sacre i agree that we should try to move them
I really hope Russell has a great camp and starts. One thing I didn't like about Phil was that he rarely played rookies
There's always going to be a reason or excuse why we lose out on a big time FA. If they're not realistic, do what it takes to make them realistic options. It's not like the front office didn't know who was hitting the FA market until through night before. It wasn't a pop quiz, they've known who was going to be available for 1-2 years now. That lack of preparation and then being shocked when it didn't go well is unacceptable. If that's the case KD won't be realistic next year (DC is home)...hell, anyone who isn't from LA for that matter. You have to sell, sell, sell and make them believe signing with your team is better than going with the natural and logical fit/choice.
I'd be content with signing Butler and Price for some veteran leadership and calling it a day. I'm not as down on Swaggy as most, so I actually think that between him, the two Browns, Nance, and possibly Butler, our back-up wing situation is okay.
Shaq brought GP and Malone here, he just let Mitch draw up the paper work. I'll give him the Ho Grant signing, that was a very impressive one if he had stayed healthy. And Ron brought himself here by stalking Kobe in the shower. Wouldn't surprise me if he was at Mitch's door at 12:01 instead of it being the other way around.
maybe the Lakers can get a first rounder for Lin in a s&t with Dallas. Lin would have brought us 2 first rounders then. Quite a contribution. btw Young deal looks like bargain this year. I can't believe what some scrubs are getting paid. Young at 5 million is dirt cheap.
