interesting that they got him for basically the mle. that said, he's having his best season in the past 3-4 years, coincidentally the last time he played more than 70 games in a season (which he's on pace to do this year as well).

on the other hand, this puts their committed salaries into the mid-180s next year, and that's prior to re-upping morris, should he work out.

he better stay healthy, and they better win this year, imo.

I hope they fizzle horribly, but I want Edwards in our colors almost as much as Luka.

i prefer luka, but yeah, i'll take either. the tea leaves say that minny will move KAT this summer; i'm guessing for a high draft pick or valued prospect and immediate cap relief (several teams can offer this), with the idea that edwards + shiny new thing will be the foundation in the future.

    Not sure what's funnier:

    1) Bev continuing his path as the next Shams/Woj
    2) Bev calling the Hawks a contender

This would be an Adrian Griffin hire with a little more basketball IQ.

    IMO.

This next week is big, especially if LeBron misses Thursday and/or Friday. Thursday @Warriors, Friday vs. Spurs, Sunday @Suns and next Wednesday vs. Clippers.

3-1 would be awesome, in expecting 2-2. Anything less would be disappointing considering the week off. If we’re going to make any real push to get out of the play-in, it has to start now.

honestly, 2-2 would probably impress me, especially if lebron misses the gs game. 1-3 is totally plausible, even for a team better than we've been.

there's a real chance for things to turn up or go really south in this stretch, though. imagine 0-4 out of the gate....

I expect 2-2. I think Bron plays GS and sits vs Phoenix on Fri. He really likes playing against GS and I don't see us taking both against Phoenix. More often than not, second night of a back to back has not been our strong suit. Clippers will be the other loss, they don't want us taking the season series. This will be their NBA Finals.

The second night of the back-to-back on Friday is against the Spurs, not the Suns. My mistake. I can see LeBron sitting out either Thursday or Friday.

I quietly like how we match up with the Clippers. We have a perimeter defense issue, but their guys are more about skill and craft than blowing by you with athleticism (the latter of which is more of a problem for Reaves/DLO IMO). LeBron and Rui are two of the stronger wings in the league that can actually match up with Kawhi physically. With two days rest I like our chances in that one. It's the Suns on Sunday I'm most worried about, they ran us off the floor last time with the three guys actually healthy.

Spurs. Even more reason to sit. Shouldn't need him to beat a tanking team, even one coached by Pop who will have them ready because he hates us.

Still think 2-2. Win this week drop the two next week unless Clipps are resting Kawhi. We have a 2-1 series lead this season. Mr Toilet Bowl himself will encourage his guys to tie that series up.

We really are going to need Cam and Max for those two next week. I'd like at least of them to eat some Steph chasing minutes but they haven't played in a bit, so I don't expect much first game back (if either make a Thursday return)

Spurs have lost 8 out of their lasts 9, which is pretty incredible considering how good Wemby has been. Agreed we should still be able to beat them without LeBron, but I wonder if LeBron chooses to play in the easier game instead and duck all of the "so the Warriors trade to trade for you?" questions.

Man, call me crazy, but I'd rather deal with Ham (which isn't easy) than deal with this guy.

    I cannot stand Rivers.

Doc Rivers on the Bucks firing Adrian Griffin:

" I told [Bucks Ownership] 'I don't understand understand why you're doing this..."

    Hahahahahahahaha.

Literally, "didn't you hear me clamoring for the Lakers job on National TV a couple of weekends ago. I want that job..." (made this up)

    Rofl.
