Man you guys should cool it with the "told you so". Mitch and Jim completely flopped in FA and we're exposed on multiple fronts by different FAs. Meanwhile they sat on their hands letting the sky fall around their ears. They deserve quite a bit of pain and punishment for embarrassing the franchise. This trade alleviates some pain, but it doesn't fix underlying issues in FA attraction from the FO.
Do we have any cap room after we spend the remaining 4.7m or is it just vet minimum contracts after that?
Disagree. More likely that they knew Roy was theirs for the taking and just went for bigger FA as due diligence. We didn't have any chance at them, IMO.
Unless something changed in the CBA, you don't get the MLE if you have cap space like that. Exceptions are for teams over the cap.
That's him on the left, right? Not on the right, left? If so I concur with the assesment, "holy crap".....Batman!! (needing a couple jaw dropped guy smilies)
So aside for SF need, i hope we sign veteran big, whether it is pf or center. Guys like Lou amundson, Psycho T, Brandon Bass, Luis Scola, elton brand, Reggie evans.
LMA, DJ, and Monroe chose teams that were the best fit for them. Had nothing to do with the presentation of the Lakers. We knew all of them were a long-shot going into free agency. Where are you getting the idea that they were "exposed on multiple fronts?" And no, they do not deserve pain and punishment. That is a ridiculous statement.
Ok so do we have the room exception at least? I'm very confused on what we will have after we have spent all our cap.
