Per cbs article: Hill throws MDA under bus but also admits he (hill) was drinking last year. What will have bigger impact on this season - less booze when on his own time or b Scott? I think neither but hope hill doesn't f up his opportunity!

At least link the article you're talking about man! ;)

Also your poll doesn't really match your question in your post... I'm not sure which questions to answer.

True enough. Do better next time. But kind of part of same deal: will 27 make most of his opportunity and offseason changes or will lakers say thank you we've seen enough by feb?

Well I think in the end you'll see him do exactly what he's known for doing. Great rebounding. Clean up offense. Decent defense.

If it hasn't happened already, he'll be moved into a timeshare with Ed Davis.

I hope so. Hill was solid at U of A and I liked the move to get him. He's young and has tons of height and length. Strange how he hasn't blossomed. Think he will but need patience.

I don't think anyone on the planet would have blamed him if he hadn't come back.
I'm glad he's cleaned up the drinking, and while I don't like him as a starter (28 MPG and not a second more), with Davis I think we have a pretty solid rotation at 5.

I'd be drinking a lot too if MDA was my coach.

The way MDA was coaching last season I was drinking. But yeah, wouldn't blame any big for not wanting to sign with the Lakers if Mike was still coach.

I voted for Ed Davis because I've said from Day 1 that I think Jordan Hill will be traded by the deadline this year. I don't know what we may get in return but Ed would then have a great chance to start.

Mike D'Antoni will drive a player to drink.... [IMG]

Anyone noticing how sensible, even in pre-season Byron's sub patterns are...... compared to the last two clowns?

Pretty simple really to link and post an article that's available to anyone. And yeah poll was a bit awkwardly placed but that's ok. I suspect we'll still be seeing Hill at the bulk of the center minutes after the deadline unless injured or Davis somehow blows up.

No, MDA ran every good big out of LA and we had to throw a king's ransom at HIll, a slightly over mediocre undersized 5 to get him to stay.

Understandable completely. D' Antoni really did run our bigs out of town. He was an imbecile really when you get right down to it.

He was completely unprepared for the rigors of Los Angeles coaching. You'd think after dealing with coaching in New York he'd have an appreciation for the nuance of coaching in a big market but... nope. The pressure to win out here is real and he crumbled under that pressure probably worse than Howard did.

Damfony's coaching drove me to drink too. Jordan Hill is hardly the only one.

Worst, most horrible, frustrating, unwatchable two seasons I can ever remember as a Laker fan who has been watching games since Kareem got here when I was 9 years old. I have never been so angry as a fan and so disappointed in our front office. I'm very relieved and thankful that we are past that. Mike Brown was bad, bad, bad. But 'Antoni ruined Lakers basketball for me for two years (and shortened Kobe's career by running him into the ground) and I'll always resent him for that.

I feel so much better about everything since he is gone. It's night and day. The dude was like a dark cloud hanging over the franchise. We may not be better than .500 this year, but I don't care, I'm just thrilled he's no longer here. I feel like it's a clean slate. I trust Byron to at least do a decent job with what he has, and I'm hopeful he'll exceed expectations.
