The Rockets have been working our perimeter guys, in every game we've played them this season. The scouting report on the Lakers is pretty straightforward. Attack them off the dribble, they have shaky one on one defenders, and are prone to ball watch, and lose track of their man, if you swing the ball.

It's a shame that Reddish and Vanderbilt, are basically the only, physical enforcer types on the team. AD is an ultra talented defensive player, DPOY caliber, but he's not a physical enforcer. Even Dennis had a little dog in him, and would get up in folks grill at times.

Lebron and AD tolerate, entirely too much BS, even from the scrubs. Stop whining to refs!! Throw some damn elbows and hard picks, take a foul and knock somebody on their a**, from time to time. That will get the other team's players attention. You don't see teams running around, randomly hacking and trying to manhandle Steph or Klay, they fear Draymond's retaliation, that's why.

We could use some of that too IMO.

Dwight was amazing in the Bubble season at this. You can't have AD and Lebron throw the elbow you need an enforcer type of the bench. Someone who is good enough to get minutes but not someone too valuable.

The game we worked Houston AD made him his b**** for the most part because he’s that much better and agree he wasn’t hobbled, and am NOT saying Senguin isn’t good.

i agree we need another legit big dude on the roster who will lay wood, but i don't think that's what sengun going off was about. most of what i saw was him getting the ball in advantageous positions because of perimeter breakdowns or weird choices on the pick and roll coverages (seemed like we had AD going out on ballhandlers more than i'd want, particularly in his current condition). didn't see a lot of the game, though, thankfully, so maybe that was just the parts i saw.

Only thing I can really complain about Rob’s job this summer was not getting a real Center for defensive grunt work.

    Last night:
    Lakers offensive rebounds: 4
    Houston offensive rebounds: 14

    For the season so far:
Lakers offensive rebounds: dead last in the league at 8.2/game
Also dead last in o-reb chances.
i.e. Ham tells them to not even go for it.

    Something something definition of insanity

Lakers are actually pretty good at d-rebs though, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Meh..Frank didn't believe in crashing the offensive boards either. He preferred to get back on transition D.

Different coaches have differing opinions on that subject.

totally. but we're a bad defensive team, too, so we should maybe just pound the offensive boards, right? vogel's teams sacrificed some offense for defense; this one just sucks at both.

It's a trade off IMO. You start 3 guys who are, let's call them so-so on defense. They have to score the ball effectively, in order to balance things out.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Personally, I kind of like these 4 PF, lineups that Ham has been using, in parts of games lately.

AD/Lebron/Vanderbilt and Rui or Wood. More size, better rebounding, and it gives D'Angelo or Austin a lot of guys that can finish in transition. Worth a look, until we figure out the backup PG situation.

Good - nothing of note. Bad - Predictably awful defense with No AD. Got destroyed on a back to back. Murray killed us. Dlo didn't show up. Horrible free throwing. Prince is the crown prince of the single singles, guy can't deliver ten points or more to save his life. Why is he still starting again? Ham is still coach.

    Bueno: Wow, just wow.
One of the rare games in which everyone on the floor played together, as a team.
Austin is still HIM! Zero turnovers and bombing from waaay outside!
    Great dishes by DLo
    Hachi with some scoring punch
Huge energy from Vando and Hayes
    We actually played great Defense!!!
Beating the C-Bags at home is always sooooo sweet!

    Malo: Vando hurt, again

What went Right: We won and this site was not kaput as I began to assume throughout the afternoon.

Okay, we might make the play-in, but who know with this team.

I sat down to watch the Lakers@Bags, us w/o Lebron and AD, expecting to lose by 40. We won the 1st Q! Not bad. Not sure how long this'll last...

I remember with 1:40 left in the 2nd, Vando dished to Max for a 3: Lakers up by 12. I still assumed we'd lose. Just getting lucky, Bags taking us lightly. Jaylen not having a night. Still: I was enjoying it while it lasted.

14 point lead at halftime. Bags won the 3rd, by only 4 though. A measly 10 point lead in BOS, w/o $82million worth of salary in two guys, sitting on our bench. I mean: who thought we'd still win? I didn't. Bags cut our lead to 6 before 2 minutes has gone by. Here it comes. At least our guys put up a fight. D-Lo and AR were playing with house money and winning. I fully expected Zingis/Jrue/Tatum/Brown and all those white guys with buzzcuts to rain 3s and end this dreamy game for us.

At around the 10 min mark Rui hits a 3: we're up 12. Weird! Things will go south any second now. We haven't turned the ball over yet. We will.

6 mins left: Hayes hits both FTs: we're up 11. Amazing.

3:20 or so, good Laker ball movement: Rui hits D-Lo who sinks a 28 footer: we're up 12...we continue to play defense...we win. We win?

I'm tempted to stop watching the Lakers here. We beat the damned C-Bags in Boston. This is probably as good as it gets for this season.

What went wrong: Vando hurt again. Damn!

Right, yes this was the most shocking, unforeseen outcome of any game this season. No AD, no Lebron. And we beat the C Bags, with the best record in the NBA on their home floor where they were 22 and 2. Needless to say, yeah, I didn't see this one coming.

The Wrong - Dammit Vando hurt again!!!!

Right - the effort level was off the charts. Team responded to everything in the way you want and got the best win of the year.

Wrong - my only wrong is we don’t play that hard consistently.

    Depressing - Vando getting hurt.
