Maybe the FO called LA back in because they knew they had Hibbert coming in. Seems quite likely now. I think LA's mind was made up to go to SA, anyway. Like Melo's wife needing to be in NY so he needed to be in NY. Sooo .....did Phoenix jettison any of those players just to make it work, that they wouldn't have let go of otherwise?
I think that could be a possibility, Pacers are supposedly wanting to run more this year and Hill would fit as their center. I am guessing that they don't have cap space to sign him outright ?
I was thinking the same thing.. That Hibbert was part of the 2nd pitch to LMA, but could we have taken on both salaries..??
I guess the relief in all of this is that the front office has a backup plan in place in case the other pitches fell through. They are/have explored other scenarios. The silence can be maddening. If this transaction comes to fruition...it's a solid double. A triple if Hibbert becomes three quarters of what he used to be.
Stat wise he's been pretty consistent other than a falling FG%. His FT% is outstanding. He's known for the meltdown against ATL. Otherwise the production seems to be pretty consistent. If he gets 32 minutes a game here he may be able to get 12 and 9 or so.
After Hibbert can we go after KJ and Lou, that'd be a solid bunch after this maddening past couple days.
I am glad we got hibbert...not bad...we need big defensive plqyer... I just hope that this trade will help him and put him back on the track...couse i dont want to see 0rebounds in the box category...
Good trade...we desperatly need big body qnd he fits the bill. I just hope this trade will help him to get bqck on the track...
Well the good news is that he's going to have to be motivated. You don't play well on the big stage then when you hit FA next year don't expect many teams to come wanting your services. Best Center in LA? lol (pointing to you Clips)
The Hibbert from the 12-13 playoffs is what I'm hoping for. 17-10 in 36 minutes. In fact every year he was in the playoffs his numbers were better than the regular season. One series has changed how he's viewed. It was a bad blowout but the talent seems to be there to re-build it.
I think that comes with putting a winning team on the court. If we have some luck with health, our young guys being good, and Hibbert regaining his confidence, I think we're a playoff team. That happens and Mitch will land a top FA next summer with his eyes closed.
