Glowing endorsement of Zach's health. Glad this one is off the table

It's more than stats. He's like Caruso in the sense that does all the little things it doesn't appear in the stat sheet, moves the ball, deflections, charges, those 50/50 bapls he gets you.
He's a glue guy who would fit extremely well with this group.

That lineup is amazing. Problem is the bench, we don't really have a lot of scoring there and it's usually key in playoff series. Although any of Cam, Prince, Wood can give us the ocasional 20/5 threes from the bench

Message in the music. This is the modern way to do it. I guess it makes a refreshing change from mouthing help me from the Hawks bench.

I suppose the power move could be to be the mic'd up player and start singing I love LA, naming famous Lakers and yelling trade me while he is on the court.

that was why i said i'd do it on top of a dlo/murray trade, not instead of it. brown's an upgrade on rui, but potentially a net downgrade from dlo.

i think you're focusing too much on this year. prior to this year, brown was a plus-defender every year (and a slight minus on offense) and an overall plus-player in general. much like murray, i don't think he suddenly started being a bad defender; it probably has to do with usage and schemes in the new place. and as nick said, he recently was a key piece on a title winner, so that carries a lot of weight.

all that said, i agree that he's overrated in general.

Both were in well coached system where they had a very well defined role, knew where their shots were coming from, where they needed to be, etc. I don't feel we offer any of that at the moment.

Important when considering the Wiz as a trade partner

Latest from Stein is that the Bulls might have found a sucker

Detroit better be falling the OKC model and grabbing unprotected picks from Chicago otherwise that is a clustefuck move

bogdanovic/harris/hayes for lavine and an unprotected 1st seems fair to me. chicago pays to get off that long term salary, detroit gets something resembling hope?

i may have suggested before, but how about:

gabe/rui/top-5 protected pick swap for brogdon. think the deal would get us under the tax and keep portland from going over, too. they don't have a bunch of rui-type players, and gabe, when he returns, could fill in the vet pg role at a lower cost than brogdon (i can't believe their long-term plan is to keep starting brogdon and having him help them win games).

will the knicks or rockets (two other teams rumored to be interested) actually beat that offer?

I wonder if Toronto would be interested in Gabe Vincent for Dennis swap? I'd love to have the Shrewd dude back and I don't see how he fits in Toronto now. Add a second in there to sweeten the pot. Or maybe throw in Prince?

Is Avidja any good? He's look like a potentially good roleplayer when I watched them but he's never broke out

Avdija is very good. He's young, about as tall as LeBron and plays point. Great handle, never causes stupid turnovers, can kinda shoot... I mean, over 38% for 3, but not on any significant volume. Fairly athletic, will dunk on anyone.

I like it in isolation. It's a good trade to push for contention this year.
But this team is all over the place and I'm not sure I would do that. It does burn 2 trade assets we have for the next couple years.

But as a win-now move is a good trade. Better package than Boston gave Indiana lol

Avdija can be like mini Kuz.
He's only like 24 years and occasionally he makes a 3 , but Prince aka Pimple jr still gonna get 35 minutes of playing time
He is shooting 37 % on 3 which is would be best on this Lakers roster

i think it only burns the first. if brogdon doesn't pan out, he's a an expiring next year, which is probably more valuable than rui on his contract right now. i'm wagering on portland maybe being interested in rui's on-court value and gabe's value as a more experienced (and not very expensive) guard.

    Per Buha:
-45% chance that Murray is a Laker in 2 weeks
    -20% chance for Bruce Brown
    -30% chance for DFS
-40% chance for DLO (as he mentions in above mailbag)
    -95% chance for Austin
    -65% chance for Rui
    -70% chance for Gabe
