As I suggested on GT, Deadcent, JHS and 1st for Brogdon

Yeah I would love to keep Dlo and have Brogdon be the backup PG.

That’s a fair point, and a reason I wouldn’t be too upset if we got him, but I personally still don’t want him, especially if he costs us Dlo or Rui, not worth it to me, overrated and overpaid off one playoff run.

I could care less about Rui TBH. He's a bunch of meh around occasional super hot shooting nights. Plus the biggest thing is other players can eat up his minutes.

I do want want to keep Dlo: his shotmaking can win you games. That why I would love to swap Rui/Gabe for DS/Brown: that's a trade that actually fills holes while not sacrificing strengths

I had edited my post to better reflect my stance, but it was too late. I’m not completely opposed. If we’re talking Schröder and Brown that’s a different story though, that’s more appealing to me. I like Rui though, I just think he’s yet another player Ham doesn’t use right, he has no consistent role, injuries have had him in and out of the lineup, when used right I think he can be a very nice bench scorer.

Portland not interested in trading Jerami Grant
    Insider Mark Stein reports this.

“Portland has been talked about repeatedly around the league in recent weeks as a team that opposes trading Jerami Grant. The forward was considered a target for several clubs that missed out on Pascal Siakam,” the journalist informs.

We don’t have anything that Portland wants anyway.

Well, the best way to end trade talk is to keep winning and playing well.

Listening to Stein and Haynes pod this AM...

Haynes: he's heard two 1sts and a quality player for Murray is the league wide ask.

Both Haynes and Stem are both pretty confident he gets moved.

We have one first and DLO is certainly a quality player, even if he doesn't necessarily fit there. So do they see JHS as a first or Max as the equivalent of a first? If we keep Austin out of it, I think that's the difference we split. We swap out JHS for Max, with less protection on the 1st and probably some 2nds in there too.

Mentions pick swap was also involved in the Hawks deal. That's new info. Reiterated what we've heard elsewhere about ATL wanting a 3rd team involved to give them an expiring. Expects teams to circle back as we get closer to the deadline

Rui is just too inconsistent man, even more so than DLo. If we have to trade for someone who is not a PG, it has to be Rui + Gabe

feels at this point like Rui is another player with a high ceiling, but that will probably never reach his potential.

If we traded Dlo for Bruce Brown that would be dumb. We need Dlo's skill.. That would put all of the ball handling on Lebron and Reaves's shoulders.. That would be ugly. If Dlo goes out, Murray MUST be coming back.

I get the interest, we've been after him for awhile and thought we could get him for the mid before Indy swooped in. Rob doesn't like to let things go (had...has(?) eyes for Buddy for years). But the market is going to be too robust, Stein and Haynes expect A LOT of playoff teams to be after him (starting with us, Knicks, Nuggets, Bucks). We don't have to draft assets where it makes sense for us to move for him.

we rank 27th out of 30 for 3 pointers made, yet we had the #2 and #3 highest % 3 pt shooters in the NBA, on our roster last year in Beasley and Lonnie Walker and we let them go for free.

would be insane to give up assets for Hield.

to me, this is more proof this team's shortcomings are down to 1) bad coaching, 2) poor roster construction/bad GM decisions

What I’m getting from these reports is that the Lakers will trade DLo for Murray but the other PG mentioned would be added to support DLO not replace him.I believe that’s a good strategy

Seems like kind of a lateral move to go from Dlo to Murray. Murray is a better player and I've advocated him for years on this forum but his defense has been bad and that is the one of the flaws with Dlo.

Get me Brown and DS for Rui/Gabe - keep continuity, keep your strengths, lose your weaknesses.
(rather flip Rui to a third team who can send an expiring for Murray - our guard position is exceptionally weak - lose some forwards gain some quality guards)

I think they're trying to add Murray and Brown. Idk how, but I think that's the plan.

Also, maybe Washington could be that third team? Or one of these other tanking teams looking to sell.

    We'll see...
