For Charlotte it would merely be about getting assets back for Hayward, who they will lose for nothing at the end of the season. I’m sure their front office would not be opposed to the idea of getting a second rounder/Maxwell Lewis for their cooperation.

DLo also has a player option after this season. To the Hornets they could see it as an audition, maybe he does fit well with Lamelo. After all, we are all saying we would all rather have DLo over Rozier. From the Hornets perspective, if DLo hates it there chances are he declines the player options and signs another deal elsewhere in the off season. In this case, DLo/Princes salary comes off the books the same as Hayward’s would. Hornets still get a young prospect for helping facilitate the trade.

Ham would request he be added to the trade also. Lamelo/DLO/Rozier starting lineup

Does anyone "think" they have a somewhat knowledgeable answer to Nick's question?

Trevor Lane and Jovan Buha are saying the same package was offered and that a third team does need to take DLo because ATL doesn’t like his player option for next season.

Great, I’m sure this will lower his trade value

Won't matter as long as Darvin Ham is the coach.

He will be gone this summer. This team might not even make the play-in!

That 6 game Grammy road trip might be the nail in the coffin. Especially if they lose the next 2 out of 3 games.

lol at murray hitting two game winners right after his ownership supposedly stepped in to prevent a trade to us. not happening, folks.

i don't really have any hope fort his season anyway. if a great trade becomes available at the deadline, everyone's on the table. but it looks unlikely, and we'll have a lot more flexibility in the summer. fire ham, make a splashy trade, try one last time in the lebron era in 2024-25, then blow it up.

serious question: do people still think three point shooting is a main issue? i don't. our top three three-point shooters are all near 40% on 5+ attempts per game. reaves and rui have disappointed a bit there, but one of them isn't going anywhere because we like him and the other because nobody will. the difference between the best three point shooting team in the league and the worst is 5 percentage points. i suppose you could argue that we need to take more, and we'd take more if we had more shooters, but...i don't know...i'm not buying it.

i do agree that perimeter speed and athleticism would be nice. but aside from murray, no trade target mentioned helps in this way.

ham is correct. but what does it mean that the same basic team is playing like hot garbage 4 out of 5 games?

these phone calls must be hilarious.

the rfa bothering teams is weird to me. he's another arenas case, so you're not paying more than mle for him, basically. and he'll be worth that if he barely improves going forward, imo. also, he doesn't have reaves's profile right now, so nobody is going to show up with a poison pill offer. christie's a valuable asset. moreso than JHS. guessing he'd just be salary filler. his value would have been higher if we kept him in the g-league.

rui being the same guy he was in washington at double the price has hurt this year. as has gabe's death. both underrated factors in our crapitude.

i keep hearing bruce brown, but as buha notes, he can't be packaged. so are we trading reaves for him? because toronto isn't taking russell or rui. are you sending rui and an unprotected '29 pick (maybe more)? that's a lot for a role player (and he is a role player) who will probably forget how to make open shots the second the plane lands.

portland has said they don't want to move grant, and i actually believe them. i'm sure we could get rozier, but question the value. i've never been high on trent, dating to last year, and the nets guys are just shuffling deck chairs.

just not excited about anything but murray, and i don't think that's possible.

Yeah. I’m fully in the Murray camp but we will see if we can make that happen.

I just don’t know that any of the smaller moves that have been rumored actually do much for us.
