Toronto beefed up their D with this and Carroll. What have we done?

You're giving Mitch too much credit. With what he's done...or hasn't done this summer, I assume nothing

oh look, biyombo goes to toronto for cheap

at this point i would really hope the FO is planning something big (as long as russell and clarkson aren't traded) or maybe they've just quit their jobs and there is no more lakers FO. seems like the second option

Well, to be fair, Mitch's wand seems to be a lot more about his ability to pull off killer trades. And he's been very solid with that. The issue right now is that he and the rest of the Lakers FO and ownership can't seem to sell us to any name free agents.

The thing is if they hadn't made such a big deal about how they were going to turn the franchise around quickly and they had this great plan we might not be so down on them. The expectations they set up - not us - seem to be completely unrealistic. So the backlash they are taking on right now is something they brought on.

Sure, it's got to be tough not to promise the moon when the team is sucking the last few years, but instead of building steadily they keep going for the big names, striking out repeatedly and then scrounging one year deals. They need to move on to building with good players regardless names right now and try to put themselves in a good position like Doc Brown has been saying.

We have to meet the minimum salary right? We have cap room and a lot of teams have expiring garbage. The two shall meet.

The only other trade we could make is for Cousins.

Who would we trade though? Our only tradable assets are Randle, Clarkson, Russell, and maybe Black so if they are planning to trade then we better be getting something really good back.

This is more "stupider" than letting Ed walk for 6. Swear to gawd. If Lee is choice now, costing anyone worth a crap, get the pitchforks ready.

Lol, my bad, I was being sarcastic ... but with the way we've been handling this free agency, I wouldn't be surprised if that was actually our plan...

Depends which version of the lead singer is belting that out. "The Voice" or the 5'3" Asian dude with the similar voice. ;)

Yeah, but combine the two moves - and realize we have no Center signed except for Rob Sacre - and it's stupidest. :)
