They are great roleplayers not stars: however they have shown that when paired with others stars (KCP) or given bigger roles (AC, Kuzma) they have done well to the point that they are either bargains or lived up their contracts.

Phoenix: KCP was hurt and that was another Leborn semi-hurt in the playoffs like last year and that team with AD looked like they were about to beat the Suns before AD got hurt

The comparison though and remember this is relative, outside of Reaves there is no one on this team that other teams really want. If you follow other teams, the Wizards aren't missing Rui at all, there is no clamor for him from fans' other teams and Dlo is consider Dlo a guy who puts up numbers on bad teams.

The big thing though is defense where bubble roleplayers were all better than anyone on this team outside of maybe Cam and they tended to have as many good offensive games as the inconsistent player on this team

Nobody wanted Kuz or Kcp..we shopped them all that season. The Wizards even turned that trade down at first, Westbrook went to the owner and asked for that trade. The Wizards got rid of KCP and Trez quickly too didn't they? They'd probably be happy to dump Kyle off, on somebody right now. Like I said, those guys played together here for 4 seasons, we were successful in 1.

Kcp missed 1 game against Phoenix and he played 40mins in the last one. I'm not sure how hurt he was. Kuz and Caruso weren't injured.

There is more than one way to get the job done, there isn't any grand blueprint. If D'Angelo doesn't go mia against Denver, we'd be defending Champions today. We don't have to replicate the bubble roster, we just need this group of guys to play their roles. I admit that I wanted to get rid of D'Angelo after the Denver series, still Iffy on him now. But...he is a talented guy, and he deserves an opportunity to right the ship IMO. If he's still looking shaky by the trade deadline, all bets are off.

I'm not knocking you at all here. I know that you want to win too. I just have a different view on this subject.

yeah, I don't regret getting rid of Kuzma. I actually think Rui has a higher ceiling and is a better shooter. Also he's younger. He just needs to be more consistent.

KCP however turned into one of the best 3&D role guys in the league in Denver, and he was already solid for us. Should have kept him. That was a huge mistake.

Yeah, I've thought about Atlanta for a couple of weeks.

A couple of paths make sense for us. Could be visible.

murray signed an extension--is he even movable right now? he is klutch...

i had my eye on him until he signed the extension. if i were atlanta, i'd keep him and move young.

Frank is on a short leash in Phoenix, like I said, they have the highest paid assistant coach in the NBA lurking on the bench. One that was a finalist for the job, with longer ties to the organization, and that was handpicked by the FO for his staff.

His team hasn’t been healthy at all. Be a shame to get the axe before even seeing what you truly have.

but professional sports can be like that sometimes

That’s true and in “this” case ignored by Slick with his Vogel hate. ;)

I don't think he'd get fired in the next couple of weeks or something. However a HC gets evaluated on how he handles the team, when things aren't ideal too. That's a rather important part of being a NBA head coach. KD is big time tho, and Booker isn't some kind of scrub, they should bounce back and win some games. If one of those guys start chirping though...look out.

Well there was the promise of the 3 stars and a better center was there and they were going to pay him. What’s one got to do with the other? You harp non stop about our 2 stars not playing together negating every last thing awful about the Westbrook trade. So same applies here.

No you just have more of a personal issue with Westbrook than I do. 22-22 is what it is.

The difference is that he'd already been fired 2 seasons after winning a chip, for the way he handled his team with his two stars out. He had to anticipate injury issues with this trio going into the campaign. Especially given Beal's recent history. Now did the FO move Ayton without consulting with him? IDK..but I'm sure that he knew when they got Nurkic, that was going to be an offensive oriented team.

If he was just hired to coach the defense, they should have hired Young as the HC, with Frank as his assistant.

Still you’re hypocritical to the max with not attributing any of it to the “stars” being out like you do here ad museum. And yeah almost every last one of us here had an “issue” with Westbrook.

    :Shaqdisappointed:

Now you blame him for taking the damn job? LOL. You as much as challenged it would be years if ever he’d be offered one again let alone a supposed “plum” like this.

If he gets fired this season, he won't ever get another one either. I don't get your point anyway, I pointed out why he got fired here.I don't know how that is construed, into blaming him for taking the job.

I don't have to follow the crowd on anything. I've stated my position on that Westbrook subject countless times.I have zero problems with someone else feeling differently..I don't care... 22-22 isn't some kind of definitive example, of something having no hopes of working out to me.

LOLOL …. classic Slick. Man I thought you were over this crap with moving the goal posts.

    :LLLLLebronlaughing:

NOW it’s if he gets fired from THIS job he’ll never get another one. GTFOH with that BS. You “called” your shot on his way out being scapegoated for the Russ debacle. No mulligans now.

And oh NO … nothing at all like you sounding like you’re blaming Frank for taking this job. With a “Head coach’s salary”. Stupid Frank.

yeah, slick pointed to vogel not getting a job IMMEDIATELY after being fired as evidence he sucked. then he got one of the highest-profile jobs in the league.

so now that can't be the bar.

    c'mon, bro.

add that star injuries are suddenly a non-factor, and LT has you nailed to the wall here.

Yep.. I absolutely did say that, I don't hide on s***, that I've said around here, If he gets canned before the season is up, that validates my point. Phoenix should have heeded my advice in the 1st place. If any of you think, that he can survive there losing a lot games, you are being delusional.

I already pointed out why I think he got fired here, and the situation with his coaching staff. The injuries won't be acceptable as an excuse. It wasn't here and he won a chip as our HC.

Westbrook's record with Lebron and AD is a different matter. They are intertwined but the record spanned different staffs and players. Russ didn't get Frank fired, he got himself fired, for the way he handled the team.
