Our Front Office, hopefully, has learned from their mistakes and won’t overpay to fix their two most recent give aways in Caruso and Kuz. Caruso was probably my favorite Laker during that run, but even I wouldn’t trade back for him if we had to give up a combination of players like Rui, Vando, Reddish, Christie and picks just to get him back. Chicago surely won’t take a Vincent and picks package. As for Kuz, his asking price will be too high as well.
I would love to see what the ATL would want for Capela because he fits the mold of what we need to spell AD.

It's interesting that this season, the Lakers shoot 35.1% from three at home and 34.9% from three on the road. Last season, they shot 35.4% from home, and 33.8% on the road. I wonder what it is that is causing them to have a drop off on the road? Also, it seems like opponents come in and light us up at Crypto from beyond the arc. Apparently it has nothing to do with Crypto.

Regarding Kuz, grass isn’t always greener

As far as the rest, we really blew it with Caruso and Dennis, Rob has done a lot of good, but he’s also had way too much roster turnover. Magic absolutely blew it with Zubac too, dude is a very solid center. I don’t know what moves we make, but I think DLo is outgoing, he’s a rental right now and he just isn’t consistent enough. When he’s great he’s great, stabilizing, dishing assists, but he often can’t close because of his awful defense.

letting schroder go was a huge mistake by the FO. he was huge down the stretch last season and stepped it up in the playoffs too

The close out to the year should be revealing. In these next 8 games...We play NY- playoff contender, Boston-best record in the NBA, Minnesota-2nd best record in the NBA, twice on the road, OKC and New Orleans -two more teams, ahead of us in the Conference standings, both also on the road. We have two "possible " breathers against Chicago and Charlotte.

6-2 would be good, 3-5 would stoke up more trade scenario discussions around here.

still waiting on the official story there. did we let him go, or did he ask to start and we said no (because it would have cost us dlo and his salary slot)? i find it hard to believe that we just let him go over like, 800k. he signed for fewer years in toronto than we gave gabe, so my guess is that he asked for a role we couldn't promise. what can you do there? i'd rather we just kept him, too, but i'm not sure it was actually an option.

we KNOW keeping caruso was an option, as was not trading kcp and kuz for russ. as was not trading zubac for muscala.

Imagine having this team AD/Lebron/Reaves/Cam with AC/KCP/Kuzma and Shroeder. Throw in Wood/Hayes and, god damn, time to have a beer and eat an edible

TBH Dennis played more minutes in the Denver series, and wasn't much better than D'Angelo. Vincent might end up being a better fit, ...eventually[/QUOTE]

You'd have to swap Reddish for Vanderbilt, because Lebron and Kuz ain't guarding anybody.

brooks and udoka are both out of control at all times, it seems. i see the rockets continue their tradition of having the most homer announcers (i.e., the heinsohn award).

IF Gabe is who they thought they signed you could get away with something like this...

DLO, TP, Wood and Hayes for Capela and Mills.

Hawks run DLO as their 6th man. He and Bogi can cook off the bench.

We move Vincent into the starting group and have a high end backup big with Capela. Mills gives us some coverage at point off the bench. He hasn't played much this year in ATL, but is qualified for insurance purposes.

Again this only works if Vincent is healthy and the team was right in their assessment of his game. We have to find that out first.

i think it would have to be a three-team trade with dlo moving to a third team that gives atlanta a decent backup big. i can't see them having 4 guards (young, murray, bogdanovic, dlo) at that price point in terms of roster balance.

anyway, i just always keep my eye on underperforming teams with positional redundance where we need help, and while capela is still their starter, it's clear that they want to move forward with okwongu.

Loop in Toronto with their discussed Siakam to ATL package (Hunter, Bogi +) and that makes some sense.

Yeah but that was a terrible call. Brooks, as much as I cannot stand him, did not deserve that call. I think that referee should be fined and removed from a few games because he not ONLY made a bad call but then T'ed everyone up over it. The first T on Brooks was as he was pushed out of bounds. Throw in the fact that the refs have been making strange calls like this all year and ............ Houston, we have a problem.
