    There's so many ifs...

If NO defers, if Bronny enters, if he gets a clean bill of health by NBA docs, if we're making the selection on draft night.

If all those are checked and if he's on the board when we're on the clock, you do it and don't even think about it.

    1) this is a business and even though we're the most profitable team in merch, tickets, and televised product; that brings a whole new level to it during their joined time together.
    2) Jeanie and Rob push the family angle hard, you can't manufacture a better representation of that than actual family.
    3) it recommits Bron. The level of bought in and enjoyment he'd get out of it and in turn give back to the game nightly (which only benefits us) would be big.

Face it, until Father Time comes for him, Bron is crucial to this organization. He brought legitimacy back to the brand and won us a ring. I don't care if Bronny isn't ever a first round caliber player, that's worth the payment.

Anyway we've got a long time this year and maybe next year to debate this one.

I, for one, think it will be such a cool thing to see a Father and Som play on the same professional team.
If it doesn’t happen on the Lakers, I’ll still be watching, unless, of course they wind up on the Flippers or C Bags.

It depends on what Lebron wants, if he gets us another ring, that man has fulfilled his oath, to the Laker Nation to me. It would be a hell of a closing act, IMO. To go on his farewell tour with his son, back in Cleveland, where it all started. That documentary would sell millions.

On the pragmatic side, to get another high end young talent, to pair with AD moving forward? We'd still come out ahead in that scenario.

Lebron accomplished what he wanted here. He won a chip. He set the All time Scoring record and turnover record. And now the first IST victory. He's part of Trivial Pursuit lore forever more. He can now do what he wants, and if he asks us to trade him, I'm pretty sure we'd accommodate him.

isn't the word that this is a weak draft. if we're drafting in the 20s (seems plausible barring more injuries), NO will defer, and if bronny's there, i think we just take him. highly unlikely you're missing out on a foundational piece there, and this would be playing the long game. maybe lebron plays for the vet min to close it out if we have his kid here.

but yeah, long way off, lots can happen.

If Danny Ainge can draft him ahead of us, he will. And then he'll put our nuts in a vice and try to squeeze us in a trade to end up with a dozen picks or something crazy.

But if the situation is reasonable and normal, I agree with @JSM and would fully expect our front office to draft him and create a very cool once in a lifetime narrative that includes one of the all time greats.

Yeah, the early word is that it's weak. Next year there's the prized target Flagg and Harp's kid (#2 projected) is the supposed to be really good too. I am skeptical of writing off a class when we're only 10 games(ish) into the NCAA season. I think you can know about the top of the class 1-2 years out. But I think it's early to trust the internet scouts and draft experts on ESPN to know what the 10-30 ranked players are going to be just yet.

If drafting Bronny can get Bron to take a pay cut... that could make roster construction really interesting especially if Bron continues to defy age and logic with his play.

Fun fact: Brook Lopez and Victor Wembanyama average more blocks than AD

    Brook Lopez MIL 2.8

    Victor Wembanyama SA 2.8

And Slacker wants consideration for DPOY?

Hoping the Nuggets get fully healthy so we don't hear any excuses from them this year after we sweep them in the playoffs.

lol, he'd be really dumb to attempt it, as i don't think it would play out in his favor at all.

if bronny were to ball out and prove worthy of a higher pick, sure, but drafting him as a bargaining chip with the lakers would be really stupid, imo. we'd let bron walk and start the rebuild before giving up multiple assets to draft a middling prospect, imo.

the only reason why bronny will end up in the NBA is because he's lebron's son and because lebron wants to play with him. he's not anywhere near a NBA caliber talent and i can't see him suddenly becoming one at USC

either he'll force his way to the lakers or lebron will be ready to leave LA and will team up with him on whatever team takes him. i can't see him sticking around in the NBA for much longer after lebron retires

I don't think he's a bad prospect TBH but I have him more as a Gabe Vincent type. Don't think he's going to be a star but he's a good defender, good athlete, not a ball stopper and can hit the 3. Best case is a FVF type.

Mid late first rounder pretty reasonable. Lottery you're probably going to be dissappointed

Durant (ankle) will not play in Tuesday's game against the Warriors.
I still didn't see that monster team in Phoenix
