Okay new plan: Hibbert salary dump. Send them Kelly and Sacre if they want. Trade kicker makes him 17.841 expiring. Lou Williams 4/22.7 million KJ McDaniels offer the room exception, see if he's matched for 2.8 million. I kind of doubt he is. Gary Neal was signed for only 2.1 million and McDaniels isn't better. Russell/Williams Clarkson/McDaniels/Brown Bryant/Young/Brown Randle/Kelly/Nance Hibbert/Black/Sacre/Upshaw
I found it. Article is over a year old but still a good read: http://www.insidesocal.com/lakers/2...n-durant-details-mentorship-from-kobe-bryant/
No I'm talking about something different. The general consensus out there is that the Lakers come out talking Hollywood, big market opportunities and organization legacy...we've always won, we'll win again BS. Arrogance and no substance. I'm suggesting that Cuban can create a much more analytically compelling picture of success for the modern player. he is not simply dude you want to have a beer with. That guy can make an impression.
Maybe I've been out of the loop, but is he trying to cash in for next year? Or have his skills simply gone South?
I'm on board with Hibbert. In fact I've kind of coveted him for a few years now despite his struggles. If FO can make that happen I'll be satisfied. But again, no youngsters involved.
A bit of both. Rondo most likely wanted a 1-year deal to show that he is better than what happened in Dallas. Then, he can cash in on a big deal next year. The problem with that is that this can easily backfire on him...and imo, it will backfire on him. At the same time, nobody wants Rondo. Lol. I wouldn't say his skills went south. I'd say he was just never that good to begin with. He only spent half a season in Dallas. While things were obviously very bad during that time, front offices probably aren't going to change their perception of a player THAT much based on half a season. Most likely, they already realized his limitations and had questions about his character. They knew that getting Rondo would be a gamble, and witnessing what happened in Dallas only confirmed it. We'll see though. He failed in Dallas, but he can still prove people wrong in Sacramento. When you look at how dysfunctional that team is though, I don't think Rondo will be able to prove much.
Breaking news: the Lakers decided to play Summer League only this year. They feel confident about their chances in this important tournament.
