Yea thats the only thing we can do

Dont get me wrong i know a lot of us here are whining about our team but thats only because we wanna get better. The FO looks incompetent and overmatched. They're not closers

With that said i hope that our young guns have great seasons like the ones we expect from them so we can build from that

Sign and trade...hill/Lin were mentioned. At one point Hibbert was the anchor of an elite defense.

He won't disrupt our cap space "plans" if he fizzles out. It's not like we're reserving this money for anyone else.

Definitely...I never expected LaMarcus or DeAndre and that's not why I'm mad.

I was crossing my fingers for Tyson or RoLo. I still see a huge hole at SF that could be filled by a guy like Harris....who won't disrupt our future plans in any way because he's 22 and will grow with the rest of the kids.

What I AM pissed about is everyone making a mockery of our FO, us being completely silent other than pushing for DJ/LMA, and the apparent mess that is our FO when it comes to pitching FA's and having a direction.

Oh I don't think I ever mentioned this here before, but I have Mitch's email address. I haven't emailed him up until this point, but now I must.

I'll concede that. There is no one in the FO that has the gravitas of Dr Buss, Logo, or Riles. Probably why dealing with other GMs in trades seems to be more effective than attracting FAs.

    They were pipe dreams

I like tobias too but i justbsaw 2 reports on twitter thatbsaid magic will "absolutely" match any offer for him. So theres that :(

And as for the mockery of our FO it sucks but its well deserved because i guarantee that if they would have been upfront from the start the backlash would not have been as big as its been, but they acted like they had lamarcus in the bag when we drafted russell and now they're the joke being left with nothing.

Asking for the 2nd interview was the nail in the coffin because i knew if they failed the 2nd time it would look even worse

We actually could get KJ McDaniels FAR cheaper than that. Houston made a qualifying offer of only 1 million. He probably could be had for 1.5 million

The 25 year old has been an integral, albeit underutilized cog in the Grizz machine for the past two years. I have significant doubts that Koufos will return. There are teams that can offer not only more money, but more playing time.

Koufos is a wonderful defensive player, an anchor in the middle that allows the Grizzlies to field forty-eight minutes of rim protection, while also providing better-than-you-think defense in the pick and roll. On offense, Koufos is a skilled finisher around the rim, and gobbles offensive rebounds, but he has other limitations that make him an awkward fit next to either of the Grizzlies' starters in bench lineups. For one (and two and three), he can't shoot, dribble, or pass enough to make the defense honor him as a threat with the ball in his hands. Koufos is really great as a dive man on the pick and roll, but with Marc in the game, that isn't used frequently. With Z-Bo in the game, space is often limited in the paint.

With all of that said, Koufos is a wonderful player, and the team that signs him to his next contract will lock up the bulk of his peak production. A two or three year deal would make the most sense for him, but the biggest problem for Koufos is not his resume, but the resumes of all the other bigs on the market.

Anybody here expected we'll go hard after Aldridge this preseason? Everybody wanted other people before the draft (I wanted Brook Lopez, Hibbert and a lot of other people but never LMA), now because the FO made a swing to the fences, everyone is mad. Mitch still have other options.

been on the koufos train for a long time, long before FA. lakers need to make that happen if they're serious about showing some improvement next year. he's theirs for the taking, imo. probably at 2/3 lopez's price.

I think you should email that breakdown to Mitch and crew just to make sure they know. But with all that said and us sitting doing Mission Impossible with LA and thumbs up our butts, someone else (gawd don't let it be Clippers) is going to snake him before we do.

Good for them arent they like best friends or something

Didn't want rondo, the more burn russ gets the better if we're not contending dont stunt their growth

Same goes for randle and clarkson

I absolute would be down for Hibbert. He was considered a top defensive center at one point and has somewhat of an offensive repitoire. And he would only be here for a year. If he works out sign him for a reasonable deal, if not no harm done.

rondo to the kings seemed like a foregone conclusion once the mavs suspended him in the playoffs. fwiw, I think he can work there. I don't expect fireworks between him and cousins or him and karl. now, cousins and karl...

anyway, the lakers needed to keep him away from Russell (and Clarkson), so I'm happy. I would have taken Beverley at the price Houston paid as a sort of souped up Ronnie price to set a tone defensively for the youngsters. no big loss, though.

    koufous/mcdaniels/derrick Williams?
