...a podcast mentioned whoever gets to 17 points wins. Hoping it would be us.

They have a sh*** offense. As long as AO4 can keep from turning it over and we use both the rush and the quick hitters I think we easily put more than 17. Our offensive weapons are lethal but we have to use them. Last week we saw some glimpses.

I should add that I actually think AO4 is our QB for the future. This kid has all the poise, confidence and ability that we could ask for as a QB1. The game isn't too big for him, he already commands the huddle and has made respect from the superstars. Fans always want the "instant" superstar but we forget no one was hyping renfrow til Carr started having to check down to him all the time. That boy showed up and then Josh McD puts him into no man's land on the bench.

I think we about to see this kid take off.

    Damn. 3 drives, 3 points.
Rookie QBs always make mistakes. D has to minimize the damage, and the O (other than DA) has got to get moving.

This is a problem. No run game. Miscues piling up.

    4 drives, 3 points.

Beautiful drive falls apart. O-line isn't making it easy.

Six drives, six points. Not a recipe for success.

But I think we've seen some JJ runs and some nice throws by AOC.

Horrendous first sequence for the LV offense after the half. Penalties, missed blocks.

Sloppy. Really not giving AOC time and no holes for Jacobs. But the huge punt and then a huge punt return set them up for success.

    9-9,boys.

JJ hitting some holes now. Gotta hold onto the ball though.

My man. Michael Mayer with a huge grab. Fantastic job by AOC keeping that play alive.

    Pretty? No.

    Win? Yes.

    I'll take it every time.

Spillane is a throwback to when playing linebacker was all guts. He saved Jacobs' behind after that fumble.

Two chances to salt the game away and unable to. Yes, we eked it out but it's a much better feeling than the ones against Denver, Green Bay and New England.

Congrats to Spillane on their newborn due in June.

Lastly for tomorrow, here we go Buffalo!

Found out their win helps our cause so I say the same thing (begrudgingly so).

Hoping our corners will be OK by Sunday against the Dolphin track team.

Looking forward to seeing old friend Ingold.

Not expecting wins the next two games but as long as the same desultory crew that played Chicago and Detroit don't show up, I'm good.

Interesting move. He's had some legal troubles, but he was very good last year (75 at PFF and held opponents to <65 passer rating). Hasn't been as good this year, but he can be a depth piece and push some other guys. He's still young.

    Some progress.

    Team Success
The Raiders are 5-5. That's second in the AFC West.
There are 14 teams with a worse record.
They're currently 11th in the playoff hunt.

    Digging in...
Their -33 point differential is better than only 7 teams in the league.
Only 2 teams worse are in the AFC.
That would put them well outside the playoffs.
Their Pythagorean Wins are currently 4.0, projecting to 6.8 wins on the season.
Since they've already won 5, that projects to 3-4 the rest of the way. That's 8 wins.
An 8-win team is PROBABLY not making the playoffs.
    Projected Wins by PD: 7.8

    QB Play
AOC's QBR is about 22. That means that the team will win roughly 22% of games with him starting.
That would be 1.6 more wins, for a final record of 6-11 or 7-10. Again, well outside the playoffs.
But he has been at about 58 the past two starts. That projects to 4.1 wins the rest of the way.
That would be 9-8. A 9-win team would probably make the playoffs.
    Projected Wins QBR: 8.0

    Trends
Finally, if we chuck out the first two games of the season, the Raiders are...
    4-4, with a point differential of -6.
That's much more favorable football, and the team would trend to about 4.3 more wins.
    That's 9-8
    Projected Wins TREND: 9.3

    Final Thoughts?
    8.4 wins.

An 8.4-9 season wouldn't be so bad in terms of momentum, but it would give LV only a middling pick.

Not a prediction person but if things shake out the way they are I see 9 wins with the only wild cards being the games against Minnesota and Denver who are playing well of late.

Crazy, but the Bengals' loss pushed the Raiders into 9th seed right now.
