Depth is good in theory but in the playoffs I'm worried that this team has too many regular season minutes eaters and not enough guys who Ham can go to in the playoffs with the playoff rotation shortens. How many dudes can you trust to play 35 mpg in a playoff game right now: AD/Lebron/Reaves. Denver just went with 6 dudes for the most part in the playoffs.

-DLO was inconsistent for the two playoff series and then no showed WCF
-Rui was terrific in Memphis, unplayable against GS, and decent vs Denver
-Vando got outschemed in each series
-Wood who knows he's never been in the playoffs
    -Hayes same things
    -Reddish same thing.

Lakers even with his depth has clear issues particularly at the guards spot: need more athleticism and POA defense. I'd prefer to see what Toronto is going to get for OG and Hedgehog - those two should be available and are safer bets than Lavine/Caruso but at the same Lavine/Caruso is going to be less costly in terms of assets to move.

Lakers have no interest in trading Austin Reaves for Zach LaVine

The Lakers are not interested in including Austin Reaves in a potential deal to acquire Chicago guard Zach LaVine , according to The Athletic insider Jovan Buha .

“The most likely core of a trade involving LaVine would center around D'Angelo Russell, who waived the no-trade clause in his contract this offseason. It would also be necessary to add Hachimura or Vincent to match salaries, one more player and a first-round draft pick in 2029 or 2030, possibly with protection,” Buha writes.

Zach LaVine, perhaps their biggest star, is rumored to be on the move soon and that could open up other possibilities for the Bulls. None of them will involve DeMar DeRozan apparently as the 34-year-old is cemented in Chicago’s long-term plans.
So basically these insiders know nothing at all

YEARS of "two weeks away" @ $40m+ each year.

And you don't go after a slumping shooter when the LA lights automatically drop that percentage another 4-5%.

Do not want LaVine. Overpaid, often injured, and it would cost us a great bench player on a solid deal in Rui. Now if DeRozan and Caruso could be had for DLo and scraps, sure, maybe.

I don't disagree. I just don't know that I really feel like Lavine is the guy that gets us over the hump against a team like Denver.

I expect more names to be available as the year goes on and see us being active at the trade deadline. I'm not against a trade as I believe there are very few players that are truly untradeable. Not sold on gutting things for Lavine though.

:ADORLY2:Mark Stein: “We have no confirmed information that the Lakers, Heat or Sixers are interested in LaVine

Insider Mark Stein believes that not many teams may be interested in the services of Chicago shooting guard Zach LaVine.

LaVine is in his second season on a 5-year, $215 million contract.

The Sixers, Lakers, and Heat were all considered potential candidates for a Zach LaVine trade . I don't think Philadelphia has any interest in him

The Lakers and Miami figure in any trade rumor. Do we currently have confirmed interest from any of these teams? I would say no,” Stein said on a new episode of the #thisleague UNCUT podcast.

yeah, we're included in all speculation for various reasons, and miami's often not far behind in that regard.
