Teams get up to play us. We gotta match that energy and take care of business

 

it's a night for ham to earn his money, imo. find a way to motivate the available guys in a game that's easy to let down on given the opponent's current state. but we're not in a position to take it lightly and take an L here.

as slick and pioneer said, you don't think shaedon sharpe has this as a night he can show somebody something? i'd be in reddish's ear to tell him making sure sharpe doesn't do it is his chance to say something.

 

Right on...guys take the Lakers seriously. They know that they could very well, become a Laker one day!

In my totally unbiased opinion...that is.

 

it's not wrong, imo. dudes who know there's a chance they play here don't tend to s*** on the lakers, but they do play their best against us. they know we're the one team fans attend to no matter what.

i still think it's why we tend to overperform in the playoffs (see: last year). we play teams in playoff mode for 82 games. nobody gets up to play philadelphia. or the clippers. nobody. nobody even gets up for golden state or denver (or SA when they were a dynasty!). but man, the lakers can't play a tuesday road game in charlotte without someone getting their family 20 tickets to see them do their thing against the big show.

 

Absolutely..that's why it's tough to shine here as a player. A lot of guys wilt under this spotlight, but go on to play pretty well elsewhere. We are different, I love it myself. I totally get it, and yet, I'm still going to gripe, and complain, if we lose too. Excellence has spoiled us all.

What is Toronto going to do: they've been stuck between trying to keep thing going from the title team and rebuilding around Barnes for years now.

Siakam and OG onunby are UFA's I believe.

Ujuri trying to win every trade by trying to Ainge fleece other teams didn't work last year and I doubt will work this year. Would be a good trading partner but he likes making fun of the Lakers instead of trying to get Toronto straightened out for a new era

siakam and anunoby's free agencies loom huge for them. i really thought they'd get that sorted out this summer, but now i think they're going to get less in trade if that's the route they go. what's working in their favor is that most of the teams interested in these guys won't have the cap space to just sign them, so they're not where the pelicans were with AD, for example.
