You lost me. So Lebron should have sat out Phoenix on the road, in order to play against Portland at home?
I just got around to watching the game. You saw LeBron's trust in his teammates play off with Cam's shooting performance.
Right: monster AD game, we needed every bit of his dominance tonight. Rui fun game. Reaves great second half especially. Cam with another excellent showing. Dlo great passing. Prince also did well. Wrong: some messy lineups from Ham, and took too long to stop the bleeding a couple times. Dlo’s defense is pretty awful. We should not be this bad from three.
Lakers 36 FT,Portland 9.This game should be blowout early in 3 rd quarter ,instead it's almost clutch
Great game by Cam again! Reaves was very solid again. AD huge on defense and very good on offense. Prince with excellent D. Still not seeing enough of players playing off one another. Our offense is either one guy trying to out- talent his man or a basic pick and roll. Playing against a Portland team that has had trouble scoring, our defense should have been much, much better.
Good -Fro AD. Patrolled the paint defensively. Carried the offensive load. Did what needed to be done without Bron. -Rui, Cam, and Austin continued from where they left off Friday night. All 3 were stars in their role tonight. -DLO was a smooth operator and even though he doesn't like the tag, he was a really good point guard tonight. -Prince rediscovered double figures... been a minute. Solid D and showed more hustle than in the past few games. - clean game, no one had more than 1 TO - won the board battle - was the more aggressive team and attacked the rim every time we could (FTs 30 to 7) Bad -We don't like to make things easy on ourselves do we? This one was way too close. Anytime we put any distance in the score, we held the door open and let them waltz right back in. -3 point shooting is non existent. The 9 extra 3s they made erased any advantage we gained at the FT line. -Wood + Hayes lineup tonight was one of the worst pairings I've seen this season from us. Brutal start to the 4th. I didn't think it was necessarily anything Portland was doing either. They were sloppy and didn't know how to convert from under the basket.

If we blow a no-Bron/AD goes Beast Mode game, I was headed to the coronary unit, and I do eat and exercise right. That was some drama I didn't need. More good: Rui is so damn cool! Back to .500, beotches!
Still haven't seen the game in its entirety so thanks for the breakdown. We don't like the easy route for sure.
Hayes kind of reminds me of Javale a lil bit.. Not the shotblocking, but he's athletic, and kinda runs around and gets off the floor, without exactly knowing, what he plans to do sometimes.
4-19 on threes is what went wrong, that’s not going to get you the win most nights, that has got to start to correct itself like it did last season after a while. A lot went right though, AD was great, Cam and Rui were really damn good, Reaves looks like he’s gotten right physically and looks very comfortable again, he and DLo both made some amazing passes. Portland isn’t that great and were missing Brogdon, but they’re still super athletic and long and we didn’t have LeBron so it’s hard to really complain about much.
Javale I think was considerably more skilled offensively when he was in his prime and past his "Fool" days. Hopefully Hayes keeps improving during his time with the Lakers.
javale's a bit bigger than hayes, too. 4 inches in standing reach and between 30 and 50lbs heavier. i don't see them as very similar players. hayes is much more mobile on the perimeter and has quicker feet, but much less skilled and can't really defend in the post, nor does he have the shotblocking instincts. you want mcgee in the paint at all times, and he was good there in his prime as both a post defender and a help defender. hayes you want to use as a chaser/disruptor on defense, and you can't count on him to defend in isolation against most post players.
It all went right tonight, especially the 60% plus three point shooting and tying the franchise record with 22 three pointers made. AD was stellar on D. He seems to take that JJJ matchup very personally and logged 6 blocks. Dlo found his shooting touch again. Everyone played well. I could get used to blowout wins again.
