I think, even though its questionably, is waiting to officially hear from LA because if we give Tobias that max offer sheet then ORL is going to wait the 3 days they can to decide what to do next. I would then hate for some miracle to happen where LMA goes to us and says.... "Guys I'm ready to sign, what's going on" and then Mitch goes, "Crap.... we just tied all our money into Tobias"

He's not. He's a good defensive player, though. The broader point here is he's a big man and the only decent one left on the market. That's a huge need for us...
Wow. I can't disagree more here. I think the Clippers got better today. If they can get a C that can step away from the hoop it opens up so much more for them offensively and blocked shots are a somewhat misleading stat. I actually see Jordan as one of the most overrated in the league. I guess we will see. Wallace was one of the better defensive bigs to play in the last 20 years. I don't really see the comparison in their games and impact unless this is just a statistical comparison. Wallace was the defensive tone setter for all of his teams. Jordan does not have that mentality and does not instill a defensive mindset like Wallace did.
I actually think this could go well if DMC shuts the hell up. Like Rondo, Gary Payton was an arrogant smug prick. Offensively more talented than Rondo without a doubt, probably defensively too. But Rondo's a much much better floor general. Also DMC likes to have the ball and Rondo has no problem feeding it. Locker room apocolypses aside, I think this team can be better than last year's kings team. Rondo/Belinelli/Gay/???/Cousins or does Gay play the 4? Rondo/Belinelli/Casspi/Gay/Cousins That team has more talent than ours.
That gamble is whats causing the Lakers to be a joke. Hes not coming here. Even if he was, its his bad for waiting for long. WE ARE THE LAKERS. We don't sit around and wait. At least we didn't use to
After 4 or 5 years of focusing ONLY on "franchise faces" it should be obvious that we are doing nothing long term until we get the new "face of the Lakers". If LMA doesn't work out I'd assume Plan B is Cousins and if that doesn't work out then it's trade our cap space for expiring contracts and vets looking for one more year. It shouldn't be that surprising. It's what they did last year when they had space. It's what they did with the Howard/Nash fiasco. They are looking for the next "face" and they will worry about the rest after he's here it seems. They don't want to build piece by piece.
