Game Debrief: What Went Right And What Went Wrong?

They have to pick it up here soon.

 

We sucked tonight..true indeed.

 

I don't know how to fix D'Angelo and Austin, getting beat off the dribble with so much ease. AD covers them up, more than we like to admit. Injecting Vanderbilt in at SF will help..I hope.

 

Dennis and Vando covered for them as well. I know you hate Dennis but he was valuable. Either way, there is no way we can count on Dlo and Reaves together on D.

 

Just an unacceptable performance by everyone but Rui.

Starters are not rising to the occasion in the 1st. DLO and Austin are not a winning backcourt. Neither will step up and just ride the vibes. Without AD, you have to step it up at the opening tip. I think the energy failure falls on these two.

Wood thought it was Halloween and went out there as the Invisible Man. This is the only reason he's here and 3rd string Cs across the league are better.

Nothing was up to snuff tonight...defense, effort, hustle, rebounding, scoring, rise to the occasion, give a f***.

Thought this might have been a loss, but 90% of the roster didn't even try. That's not OK.

 

I didn't hate Dennis..where did you get that idea from? We got lit up with Dennis too last season, but he did make it better..not sure if Vincent will have a similar effect, he hasn't played much.

 

When does Jarred get back? I thought there would be an update this week. It's been two weeks. We got our a**** kicked..by the friggin Rockets. SMH

 

Went went right: Rui reminded us how much we missed him.

What went wrong: Don't know where to start, but Christian Wood picked the wrong game to show up by not showing up. With AD out Wood went 0-4-1 with no steals and no blocks. In 22 mins. That certainly didn't help.

What else went wrong? Pretty much everything. As Mamba said after games like this one: flush it down. In PHO for our last chance to salvage one damned game on this nightmare road trip and if AD's adductor is still malfunctioning we're effed. Damn!

 

Man, a repeat of the start to last season.

 

Nothing and Everything

 

AR, DLO, Vincent, 2 of these guys needs to go in a trade for a real PG. Aftet that, let's pray Vando is enough to wake us the eff up.

We really need to defend better, it starts there.

We start all games losing, that's bad in so many levels. You start playing with less room for error down the stretch, opposition gains confidence, crowd gets excited, etc etc

We need Vando and Gabe back and without AD we will always struggle. But that can't be an excuse, our current personnel needs to get it done.

West is expected to be really crazy this year, so we better start winning some games. There's no reason to struggle to make the playoffs with this team


Btw, for all the antics against Brooks (I'm not a fan), he shut down LeBron yesterday. He had 9pts until Brooks left the court

 

shelburne hasn't had any connections within the lakers FO for years now, so anything lakers-related she says is 100% BS

Brooks can't do anything with Lebron, even at 39. All he does is foul him, as often as he can get away with it. And when LeBron gets by him, which he can still do repeatedly, you send help to foul him again. That's the LeBron defense, hack him as often as possible, because he has to be, one of the worst officiated, great players of All Time . The scrubs and bit players, get away with hacking LeBron a lot. It's borderline ridiculous on a nightly basis.

It somewhat effective too. He got whacked a lot, by everybody, and he only got a few calls. He gets frustrated with it sometimes and that's a form of defense.too... I guess

 

Demand for 3rd star (from LeBum) because AD just couldn’t cut it for a whole seasonIf they only retained Dennis and Lonnie, we wouldn’t be in this situation

 

If you watched the game, you saw LeBron couldn't make a move. He no longer has the explosion to burst through tough defenders in half-court settings. He was really struggling against Brooks

 

john ireland isn't jeanie, rob, or anyone in the lakers FO. she was jeanie's mouthpiece for years but they cut her off a long time ago. i want to say it was around the time of the AD trade or a little before
