Wow. It’s 2:00 warning in the first half. Offense doing well. Defense has been huge.

Best half of football all season. Awesome job, all around. Thank you, silver and black.

If McDaniels was still at the helm, we would have lost to Tommy DeVito. Hell, we would have lost if Danny DeVito was quarterbacking the G-Men.

The kid (AC) looked so poised out there. He ran that huddle and he made some nice throws. I think the kid is the real deal.

Offense - play calling and execution - got a little tight in the second half. Need AOC to keep taking shots. He throws a nice deep ball. I think that the team has a real shot against the Jets.

Jets have a stout defense but their shaky offense is a different story.

What I find odd is all these stories about other teams and their offense being stagnant like in Pittsburgh with Canada along with New Orleans and Carmichael then we're the big news?

AOC is currently 3rd with an 82.5 QBR this week!

Since that ugly first half on 10/1, he's been solid.

They have been painting Amik Robertson as the odd man out EVERY season and yet he sticks around to make plays.

He's a tough read. He seems lost a lot, but he makes big plays. His PRWT this season is a ridiculous 32.5.

Jets defense can only do so much. Their front four can pressure without relying on blitzes for help. Hoping their offense remains putrid this Sunday.

I'll have a "midseason" review coming up soon - probably today.

    Team Success
The Raiders are 4-5. That's third in the AFC West.
There are 10 teams with a worse record.
They're currently 13th in the playoff hunt.

    Digging in...
Their -37 point differential is better than only 7 teams in the league.
Only 2 teams worse are in the AFC.
That would put them well outside the playoffs.
Their Pythagorean Wins are currently 3.4, projecting to 6.4 wins on the season.
Since they've already won 4, that projects to 3-5 the rest of the way. That's 7 wins.
A 7-win team is not making the playoffs.
    Projected Wins: 6.7

    QB Play
AOC's QBR is about 20. That means that the team will win roughly 20% of games with him starting.
That would be 1.6 more wins, for a final record of 5-12 or 6-11. Again, well outside the playoffs.
But he was over 80 last week. That projects to 6.4 wins the rest of the way.
That would be 10-7. A 10-win team would probably make the playoffs.
    Projected Wins: 8.0

    Trends
Finally, if we chuck out the first two games of the season, the Raiders are...
    3-4, with a point differential of -10.
That's much more favorable football, and the team would trend to about 4 more wins.
    That's 8-9.
    Projected Wins: 8.0

    Final Thoughts?
An 8-9 season wouldn't be so bad in terms of momentum, but it would give LV only a middling pick.

My prediction is 9-8. We should win against teams we should beat and hopefully competitive against the teams that are superior.

This is an incredibly important game. The winning team will be at .500 or better. Teams with at least a .500 record have made the playoffs 79% of the time since the expansion to 17 games. Only one team with a sub .500 record has made the playoffs in that span (and that was a division winner).

It's also an incredibly close game on paper.
The Jets are about a 1-point favorite, and I can see why.
I'd project the score 19-18, Jets, on neutral turf.

Going to Vegas, you'd think the Raiders get the nod. Unfortunately, Kolton Miller is doubtful.
The reason this is so bad is because the Jets are very good against the pass, so the Raiders will have to run to win. No Miller = tough sledding.

One last weird stat to ponder.
The Jets have played the toughest schedule to date, according to Sagarin.
They're 2-3 vs. top 10 teams, tying them for the most such wins. And their 40% win% is better than 19 teams, including the Raiders. Vs. non-top 10 teams, the Jets are 2-1. The Raiders are 0-4 vs. top 16 teams. The Jets are currently 13th in the Sagarin ratings.

Sagarin sees the point differential as: Jets -2.96, even with LV's Home Field Advantage.

It could be a battle. I'll be tuned in.

wanted to jump in before the game and drop a thought.

Ive been very perplexed at the bi-polar(ness) of fans and pundits about this team. We either were always gonna suck or we were good enough to make it into the playoffs and get into some stuff. My thoughts from the beginning of the season is that this team is good enough not only to make the playoffs but to be dangerous in it. Our offensive line and offensive play calling has been crap most of the season BUT the talent has been there all along. So, now that we got rid of Josh and the oline has gotten better with each week I'm not sure why there isn't real excitement for this team making a run.

Like Trodgers said this game is important. Very. The injury to Kolton is huge but again I think we have the weapons to put up points (if AC4 can get the ball out quickly). And, the offense needs to stay on the field because we see how good the D plays when they are rested. TBH, I think we see the offense put up a bunch of points on them (over 20 for the 2nd straight week) and that will put the NFL on notice we are legit. Legit like i thought we were at the start of the season.

    Just win baby!
