harden/PG/kawhi is pretty terrifying. if russ would actually embrace a bench role, that would add something. if he insists on starting with them, the whole is less than the sum of the parts.

one thing harden does is raise the floor for the clips. historically, he can stay on the floor and be the engine of a team good enough to win half its games. so when PG and/or kawhi are inevitably out, they can stay afloat.

i'm not positive he raises the ceiling much, though their ceiling was already pretty high.

 

Man I hate the Rockets..I live in Houston. But the Russ/Harden thing was actually pretty potent. Their problem was that MDA had the "brilliant dumb idea", that going ultra small, was going to be their golden ticket. Then of course they ran into the Lakers in the bubble. I throughly enjoyed crushing their dreams!! My brother is a Rockets fanatic. It was sweet!!!

Moving forward to the present..I understand hating on the personalities involved and all of that. I really do..BUT..I can recognize and respect talent. The Hyena, The Jackal, the Beard, and the Chipmunk, are an extremely talented group of enemies IMO. I'm not taking them lightly at all. The Beard is more than willing, to adjust to playing the two, with the Chipmunk, and the Hyena and Jackal, seem totally willing to concede the leadership of the team to those two. If they are healthy, they are going to be a serious problem.

The road to the Championship will run through LA this season IMO. The battle for LA is going to be epic, strong enemies, make you stronger.

Of course the reality of injuries, could crash the party for both teams. We'll see.

What was the "I am a system comment about? Never did hear if he clarified or any dumb reporter followed up on it? The "headline" looks really bad and it seemed a stupid thing to say under the circumstances. Didn't at all sound like he wanted to change his style. And Russ finally got happy again starting and being Russ, warts and all.

 

IDk..I hope it fails spectacularly ..whatever their grand masterplan is.

why have it now, most of the teams are not even settled in. I thought the in season tournament was going to be mid season.

 

Silver wanted to raise viewership during the doldrums of the season... which made me think this was going to happen later in the season rather than a week in.

Injury group update

 

Book is already on to injury #2. Makes me think the foot/ankle wasn't right yet and he put additional stress on another muscle group that was trying to compensate.

 

Damn, that sucks. Hope he's alright. Missed 17 games with this two years ago.

 

Cleveland just killed small ball.They scored 58 points in paint ,Klay and Draymond can't play vs real 4 and 5
Looney with 11 boards played just 15 minutes .

 

The schedule all evens out in the end, but 5-2 is better than 3-3

 

if fox didn't play in our game, we beat sac by 20. you're not guaranteed to have that kind of stuff even out, especially when you're the team for which everyone marks the calendar.
