    Leverage

Only way Dame goes to Orlando is if it's to hop on a connecting flight to Miami.

Alright, due to boredom I came up with a 4 teamer using the interested teams (excluded the TOR leverage play), getting them the players they want.
    Blazers - MIA - Jazz - Suns
    fanspo-nba-trade-machine-snap_9-25-2023_2-31-07PM.png

(Had to throw in Goodwin and Camara to get Martin in Phoenix, rest of the Suns players signed too recently to move).

Heat move all the picks/swaps they need to over to Portland. Jazz include their 1st to Portland. Suns improve their depth. Lowry gets bought out in season to go play for a playoff team.

that deal makes sense; allows portland and miami both to save face after the standoff.

i still want to see lillard traded elsewhere, though. just because eff him and miami. sort of how people probably felt about indy not dealing us PG.

    Busy week ahead

How would that work? They're not trading Antetokounmpo. Can't lose Holiday's defense. Can't trade Lopez or Middleton even if they wanted (not till Oct 4). If they attached everything they're able to move today (excluding Antetokounmpo and Holiday), they're not close on salary.

Don't see how any of them fit Portland’s youth movement.

third team? didn't a couple teams want middleton this summer? but he can't be moved until 12/15 anyway, right?

could be milwaukee looking to facilitate and pick up a non-lillard player from one of the other teams. portis, allen, connaughton, and holiday can all be moved, and combinations of them can take on salary. only allen's expiring.

anyway, if i'm milwaukee, i'm trying to muddy the lillard waters for miami.

The Bucks aren't getting Lillard, they have less to trade than Miami. If the Toronto noise is real, their deal is probably Anunoby/Trent/filler. I'm not sure what draft picks they have to trade.

    Lillard / Schroder
    d*** / Temple
    Barnes / McDaniels
    Siakam / Boucher
    Poeltl / Achiuwa

Looks like a pretty strong team, not sure how it stacks up with Boston/Milwaukee/Philly in the East. Miami seems pretty f***ed if they don't get Lillard, although I wonder if they have another Herro deal in their back pocket. The East in general seems weird, all of Boston/Milwaukee/Philly/Miami seem like worse versions of last year's team at the moment.

That team is worse than some of Portland teams
I don't see the point of Toronto trading for Dame and throwing Anunoby and Trent. It goes the opposite way of the reason to move for Dame. But who knows

I think the Bucks is just a media play from Toronto. But Dame to Heat actually puts them in a tough spot. They have a 2/3 year window and the Heat would have too.
Dame is scary in the Heat btw. They always find undrafted guys to fill up the missing holes

I like the mock trade above too, though I think the Suns are high on Goodwin defense. But it's a nice return for them. Don't think THT adds value to them, maybe he goes to Miami and Olynyk to Phoenix, like that more. Miami can't really make the deal fall because they aren't getting Olynyk

Toronto won't include Scottie Barnes in Damian Lillard trade
    Kurt Helin
    @basketballtalk
Let me just say what I have heard Barnes is not available. Portland fans love the idea of landing him but I've been told by multiple people it's not that he was taken off the table, he was never in the same room as the table.
According to Anthony Chang of The Miami Herald, the Heat and Blazers have a "fundamental disagreement" over what "is sufficient compensation" for Lillard.

“According to a league source who spoke with Portland management last week, a trade of Lillard to the Heat is 'unlikely,'” Chan wrote.

So looks like he stays in Portland

toronto wasn't willing to trade barnes for KD. no way they'd trade him for lillard

OG/d*** or trent/picks would be the likeliest package for toronto, although i still don't understand why they'd make that move. lillard wouldn't move the needle much for them and they'd be losing at least a couple solid 3 pt shooters. not to mention lillard isn't exactly young in NBA terms anymore and has missed time with injuries the last few seasons

if i'm toronto, i'd move OG/trent/d***/picks (lol) for lillard. he's still a superstar offensively and should be a great fit with siakam, poeltl, & barnes.

Yeah you just have to hope Barnes jumper improves a bit and that team would be tough - that frontcourt is as big, physical and athletic as you'll see. They really struggled with 1/2 court offense mainly due to FVF games dropping. You put Lillard and hope for some improvement from Barnes and you have a shot.

I saw the "lol" but still have to drop a
    [IMG]

I'd like to see Precious Achiuwa included for content purposes.

On paper, I'd make the move of I was TOR. But the disgruntled angle is so much bigger than Kawhi due to length and size of the contract. That's a lot of youth to have a sour apple who can poison the well. Dame isn't like Kawhi either, where even if he's unhappy you he's load managed so he's barely there anyway. He's been dinged up more in recent years, but Dame typically plays unless he's being shut down for the tank and even the recent injuries were ones that he could've played through if they were in playoff position.
