I'm all for Jordan right now. He'd fit right in with our team. Young, energetic and athletic...

    Completely viable reason.

Having the track record of spending for a winner--> not a viable reason.

Well that's not a track record and that really wasn't what it sounded like in the tweet. She could have said reputation which would have made way more sense.

Is it possible to get both DJ and LMA in the same meeting to discuss getting both?

I mean - sign DJ with the cap room.

We'll still be under the cap to do a sign and trade with the Blazers and send Randle/Young/Black and negotiate with Ed Davis to make salaries work.

It's not happenin' dude. I mean it's possible, but in the same way that it's possible I'm about to go to bed with a Russian ballet group. It's possible I suppose, but so unlikely as not to waste my team hoping for it.

If this is true why would he want to play for an old Mavs team vs young uptempo Lakers team where he could be the centerpiece and leader

Don't know... Parsons and Wes aren't that old, but they're certainly not young either and I can't imagine them aging well.

If he's worried about a team aging well, ours can certainly do that. It just wouldn't be all that competitive next season.

Apparently because Mark Cuban is a cool dude you can party with. :speechless: I swear these Twitter reporters pull half this stuff out of their backsides. That and to mess with the fans, they seem to enjoy doing that.

She made a typo yesterday that totally changed the meaning of her post. I don't think she thinks too much about the wording of her tweets. I think you're getting too upset over semantics here. Regardless of what she meant, one tweet by her isn't going to suddenly get logical people to believe that Cuban has a better basketball resume than Kupchak.

Anyways, how awesome would it be if the media is completely wrong. We get Aldridge, New York gets Jordan. Spurs gut their roleplayers for nothing. Dallas replaces their best scorer with someone coming off an Achilles injury and loses their defensive anchor. Clips keep clipping. Blazers go full rebuild mode. I'd like our chances of doing some damage in the playoffs.

I mean it'd be a dream come true to see the world melt down behind us getting either Aldridge or Jordan... That would... well that would be lovely. It ain't happenin' though!

I saw the report earlier that Harris is closing in signing a deal with a team. I'm hoping that's us. The timing came out right about when we probably were getting out of our meeting with LaMarcus where we apparently didn't feel like we were going to sway him... I'm hoping we hear the Lakers signed Harris to an offer sheet and then went out and got Koufos. If we entered the season with-

    Russell/Clarkson
    Kobe/Brown
    Harris/Young
    Randle/Kelly
    Koufos/Black

Well I could live with that. They'd lose a lot of games, but they'd be exciting sometimes.

I don't think Shelburne was knocking us in any kind of pitch....she might have just meant Cuban's track record for spending and getting talent > the clippers track record for the same.

    Carlisle > Doc

    Carlisle > Byron

I feel like these writers are just trying to get popular, no one truly knows whats going down until it goes down! Dj nor LA has signed yet. I have a feeling LA and DJ are thinking of joining forces and mitch is trying to convince them to imagine that.

I think we'd offer Tobias Harris a max.....I'm just pretty sure ORL matches.

Why wouldn't they at this point? They're well under the cap and the cap's going to explode.

I'm seeing sporadic posts about DJ. What is the status of DJ? Anything pending? Is LAL in the run for him? He's probably the only big guy in the market that I feel will fir with this team. And help us out defensively as well.

We're as much in the run for him as we are for LaMarcus. No word on where he's committing yet.

They've got a lot of young talent to develop now and they wanted Hezonja specifically. It's a tough call to make, but as long as we've signed the best FA Center available in Koufos, I see no harm in sinking the rest of our cash for 3 days.

Cuban is a persuasive guy who knows how to excite entrepreneurs, which is what today's athletes are. He speaks to their personal brands and How they can have mutual success. Ok I'm completely imagining this but I think it's true. It's not about him being cool to hang with but he understands that these guys are building something to last beyond their playing days. I'm sure the dude is very compelling.

You are describing precisely what the Lakers 1st meeting with Aldridge sounded like.
