Exactly, Mavs are in similar or even worse situation than us. They have CHANDLER PARSON!??!?! and Dirk who plays PF!!! I
You know last year the Melodrama took like what 2 weeks and forever to resolve? It's only been 3-4 days and it feels just as long. I have a bad feeling we're gonna strike out completely this year.
if we strike out on LMA and DJ, I sincerely hope that Lakers go all in on Tobias and Koufos or Bismick and sign veteran PG.
I don't understand something. Pat Riley and LMA are "still" dining together? Didn't the Lakers meeting with LMA just end?
I don't think anyone on twitter knows whats going on right now I heard Riley and LMA were spotted on a shuttle heading towards Mars
Ramona's tweet said the meeting was over, not necessarily that it just ended. Easy misunderstanding to make.
I believe it's as in they still will be dining together tonight. Example: "The Lakers meeting has ended with LMA, he still will meet with Riley tonight for dinner". At least that's how I read it. Stein said it's only 9 on the West coast, I assumed he meant not to late to go have dinner.
Mitch is going to have to do his work through trades. The strategic planning by our FO or lack thereof this summer failed completely with the top tier and some of the 2nd tier FA's we were after; it's time to re-evaluate our plans and by that I mean a shakeup in the front office quite possibly. As it stands, we need to add a Koufos; a big body that will play defense, work hard offensive, set good screens, grab rebounds, and handle the dirty work. He should be our number 1 option right now. We definitely need another swingman. Alan Anderson is still available. I'm not sure who else is; he's a rotation players, but he's an upgrade over Wesley. Then, the seemingly inevitable trade for David's expiring contract. We have up until February trade deadline to see what's available. During that time, I'd try to shop Kelly and Nick's contract, develop the youth, and finish the season at .500. If we can muster up, 38-41 wins, our youth exceed expectations, we'll get somebody in 2016. No, it may not be KD, but it could be a quality player that will help us get back into the PO's. Plus, Kobe's off the books, probably retired, and we can move on...
Ugh, it's acceptable if you can't land the biggest names. It's much worse if you can't land the 2nd tier guys. It's terrible if you can't land the 3rd tier guys. It's disaster if you now HAVE to spend the money you've carefully planned to have freed up for quality players on the bottom of the barrel guys. At this point I'll be thrilled if we sign any second tier guy that fills a need for a reasonable price, or 3rd tier guy for cheap. If we somehow end up with Harris I'll fall on my knees and thank the heavens.
