What good is contesting a 3 when giving that much space?

    Nobody’s questioned wood’s 1v1 offense. But I didn’t question ancient melo’s 1v1 offense either.

The Dallas Mavericks have a 6-1 record when Christian Wood starts with Luka Doncic, including a six-game win streak — the longest of the season. In the 582 minutes that they've shared the floor, the Mavs have a 120.2 offensive rating, 113.2 defensive rating, and 7.0 net rating.

Luka Doncic on relationship with Christian Wood: "He doesn't get mad at me when sometimes I yell at him, and that's what I appreciate. ... Sometimes it's hard to be with me on the court probably. I just want to win. He appreciates that, he never gets mad. ... It's working great."

Let me get this straight. You believe that Bron or AD went to the front office and said I/we don’t want to play with this guy but the front office said yeah we don’t care we might sign him anyway.Does that remotely make any logical sense to anyone lol.Let’s piss off our two best players because you know we need a backup center.Unbelievable lol

I believe Rob trusts the input of his FO more than them at this point after the Russ fiasco. Bron could've gone in there with the Murtaugh "too old for this s***" if he wants a zen locker room after the Russ s*** show. AD might have not enjoyed playing with him in NO and wants someone else on the roster who can defend a big (Biyombo). Neither are going to demand a trade over a 14th man signing.

I wouldn't do it because it's just yet another red flag but over half the front office is in support of adding him. I think he might weigh that heavier than their thoughts at this point.

Fair enough.I’m just not buying it.It makes absolutely zero sense to potentially disrupt team chemistry of a championship caliber roster.Either the concerns have been exaggerated or there weren’t any in the first place.I’m leaning towards the former

Such a boring soap opera. Portland should ship him to Detroit, just to prove a point.

yep seems to me he's not the nicest guy in the world but the Dallas situation boils down to him starting to play well, folks were like he should start and get more minutes, Dallas is working him more into the rotation. Unfortunately, he gets hurt during the time his extension talks kick in, they can't agree on an extension and Dallas after the Brunson situation basically takes him out of the gameplan. The Brunson situation, the injury, and Dallas being upset they traded a first for him really cast a cloud over his stay

I thought he was really good in his minutes when they played the Lakers. Yeah he's not perfect but at the minimum it's a no brainer for me - he is really talented and he's better at certain aspect of defense then Hayes, TT, Gabriel (he's good a rim protector with bad post defense). Worst comes to worst you can always cut him but his upside is just at another level than anyone else available and I'd argue his floor is better as well. He played really well for Detroit his last year there and for Houston before they decided to get go full rebuild. He had a 5 and 4 wins above replacement those years which would place him among the 50-75 players in the league. Not only is that great value but you can actually get a reclamation project that could seriously reduce AD's minutes and be the difference in a critical game. He would have every incentive to play well too to get a bigger contract just like Monk

Those are all valid points, but if those statements about a couple of our higher level players not wanting him on the team, I wouldn’t risk it. Give me Biyombo- we have plenty of scoring options on this team already. We don’t have anyone else on the squad who can protect the rim. I’m a big Castleton fan, but he needs time to learn how to play solid D without fouling.

the whole lillard thing has become tiring

do the blazers really OWE him? i mean yeah, they're a cheap and poorly run organization who failed time and time again to surround him with winning pieces, but lillard himself could have left years ago. was it really loyalty? or did lillard just stick around because the blazers were the team who were able to give him the most $$$

I’m believing the latter. That just reveals his real character, and it’s lacking. He painted himself as THE most loyal player of his generation, but then decided to royally screw Portland by taking that massive new contract and then demanding out.
    Lame.
I hope the new CBA doesn’t allow for Max Level players to “demand out” until the final year of their contract.

Id love to see OKC put a package together. They could be good, fast.

Not realistic at all. But it'd be fun.

Regarding the standings, here's why I expect a little regression from the Kings

I remember them talking about this during the playoffs, how this was one of the healthiest seasons any team has had in the past decade.

Sabonis typically misses 20 games, he only misses 3. Fox only missed 9, he's been missing 20+ in recent seasons as well.

My favorite player from this era. I was heartbroken when he was traded for Glen Rice.
