At 6'7 playing 5, he's never going to be a good defensive player. He doesn't have the lateral quickness to stay with the smaller guys either. He's strictly an offensive threat.

Interesting wrinkle from this one. When the Blazers announced Dame requested a trade, they became the first team to ever publicly announce such a thing. Because there's nothing about this in the CBA, they're not being fined. If a player publicly requests a trade it's $150k fine (up from $100k). But if the team announces it first, the player is then allowed to discuss it publicly without any financial penalty.

Wow, you'd think a big man with those numbers would get 10 mil a year.

what don't we know? Or do we know, and are willing to ignore it?

guess no one else wanted him. he was relegated to the end of the bench by the end of last season so maybe nurse has a bigger role in store for him

crazy how much his value has tanked since the 19-20 season

Id love to get Christian Wood. He’d be really nice AD insurance.

Every time he plays, team loses more than wins.
At the vet min, he's a good gamble. The hope is that the rest of the team helps hiding is defensive liability and that he sticks to his role on offense (he hogs the ball a lot)
This reality check may help light some fire on him so he improves as a player

I'm not crazy about him and I'm fine if he goes somewhere else. If he comes at the vet min, I like it too

Not sure this guy is really much of a “reporter”. Feels like he’s moreso just speculating based on the status of the market. But it does make enough sense.

This was from a few days ago, before the 76ers signed Bamba and Harrell. Apparently they’re still interested in retaining Paul Reed as well. So I don’t think there is any room in Philly for Wood anymore.

Feel like I’ve heard some buzz elsewhere about Wood maybe waiting to see how the Lillard situation plays out. Wonder if Miami would want to start him alongside Adebayo? But I can’t see why a spot for Wood in Miami would be dependent on the Lillard trade. Doesn’t seem likely there would be any significant front court pieces involved in a Lillard trade.

If Caleb and Highsmith go, they only have Love at the 4 so it may make sense.

There's still teams with cap space and MLEs so I get Wood trying to wait and see if he can cash in some more. On a vet min he may have multiple suitors so he can choose the best context for him

Maybe I just see things with rosy sunglasses but to me, it did not look like he punched her in the face on purpose. Looked inadvertent, like he saw some strange lady approaching the guy he is supposed to be protecting and threw out a quick arm to let her know to stop, but he slightly touched, maybe a light smack, by accident.

He was just trying to hold her back (without even turning around ) and his hand just happens to struck her in the face because she is too short, if it was anyone else that would be a tap on the chest . Damn I had no idea she was that short .

Yeah absolutely nothing wrong with what the security guard did IMO

I had envisioned that maybe they were in a VIP section of a club, Victor was standing or sitting, and she gently approached him.

But naw, they’re walking in public and she’s running up on him from behind. You can’t do that to a celebrity. Security wouldn’t have had time to process that it was Britney Spears, they probably just assumed it was some weird fangirl.

I’m sure if I was jogging up on Britney Spears from behind to tap her shoulder while she was walking with her security, I’d get knocked out.

Also, AD DIDN’T only have one team on his list.

While the buzz was always around the Lakers, and we made the most sense, there were reports that he had other teams on his list (Knicks, Clippers, Bucks). Sure, that list was probably crafted to make the Lakers the primary option, as the other teams didn’t really have good packages. I think the intention was to exclude the C Bags, the other team that could make a competitive offer.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...e-four-teams-his-trade-wish-list/2770804002/#

But then after that, AD very publicly denied having a list at all! Said he’d be okay with all 29 other teams. Again, he probably wasn’t being genuine and was focused on trying to get to the Lakers, but he at least was being open to other options publicly.

    Far cry from Dame’s situation

Source: Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard will not report unless traded to the Miami Heat

Ever since he formally requested a trade last week, Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard has made it clear he wants the front office to deal him to the Miami Heat. But what if the Blazers trade him elsewhere?

“He just wouldn’t go,” a person familiar with Lillard’s thinking told Sportsnaut. “He just wouldn’t report.”

The person stressed that the Damian Lillard is “not a disruptor” and wants to honor his contract in the 2023-24 season.

Portland want 'four first-round picks and two quality players' for Lillard
