Gawd I hope not. Hate him as much as SAS. Jacka** takes to be controversial for the sake of being controversial.

My main thing with the Suns off season is that they grabbed playable rotational players. I thought they were going to grab ring chasing vets like other super teams usually do, like what we did after we traded for Russ. But yeah its a little overblown by the media but I see the angle

Bol Bol has always intrigued me. Not saying we need to sign him, but his skillset interests me.

Hoping any other teams in the market for a big man with the minimum get distracted by the intrigue of Bol and go for him, keeping some of the other options in play for us.

Well if Rob can control his own destiny here, staying under Jeanie’s ceiling, and not want to be hated on more than he probably will be for having HAD to (probably) (going after their best position/player targets) LOSE “assets” already in that contingent of hard core Pelinka detractors ….. and this asset of the trade exception is a use it or lose it this year, then he ought to use it getting us up to a $4-5M value player. If possible. If I’m understanding correctly?

Really warming up to the idea of Biyombo. Think he’s already been playing for veteran’s minimums the past few years but I don’t exactly see anybody else giving him a pay raise. So he’s within our market, and would be the best fit in terms of experience/stability and interior defense.

Although, we had some earlier discourse about how some of the advanced metrics Cranjis uses don’t always pass the eye test… and these metrics show Wenyen Gabriel around the same area as Evan Mobley lol (who was third place for DPOY)

I don't see how he just doesn't re-up with the Suns for that money. They could definitely use him too.

Would LOVE to have him!! But yeah don’t see why he would leave. Can’t they give him like 5M+? But I guess we could get close to that, reading about the Beverley trade exception. He’s exactly what we need for the muscle and still good rim protection when AD is out. Certainly more muscle and strength than AD period. If Rob could pull that off too and keep him it would be unbelievable. But even for one year would be the final missing piece.

I didn’t quite understand this when it was mentioned earlier. Had heard some people act like we could use the remaining MLE to offer more than the minimum, but that remaining $1.5 million is LESS than the minimum. And you can’t just tack that onto a minimum contract.

Now it’s starting to make sense though. The point is that once you get to the time of the buyout market late in the regular season, the veteran’s minimum becomes pro-rated and so it’s not a lot. Seems to range from $500-800k.

So at THAT point in the season, the remaining $1.5M of our MLE is notably more lucrative than a veteran’s minimum offer. Since we’ll likely be a contender AND looking like we’d have the most money to offer, we might be in prime position to get the best buyout player this year.

Yes, FA deadline this up and coming season will be crucial. D Lo defense isn't compatible for me for a championship squad.Hoping Pelinka makes another killing in FA trades like last season, plus the buyout market, Lakers could use some another post defender for Jokic, Embiid just to put fouls on like the old Shaq days, and keep AD off them to be fresher and out of foul trouble.

Biyombo would be awesome. I’m assuming he just goes back to Phoenix, but if he was going to do that why wouldn’t he have signed already? Maybe he’s waiting for someone else to give him more money than Phoenix.

Regardless, I’m very happy with the roster. I slightly prefer Dennis to Vincent but Dennis probably had that offer from Toronto in the bag. Absolutely love Prince for the BAE and I think Hayes could give us some 2020 McGee flashbacks. If you look at where we were a year ago…I’m just grateful to go into a season with a solid rotation and legit expectations.
