It's a conspiracy on so many levels. Ultimately it's to spite the Lakers. The rest of the league wants us to drown in the awesomeness of the Clippers, and thus, lose our status in LA. They'll do anything to see it to fruition.

Either that, or Houston is poorly, poorly managed.

 

They agreed to pay Dillon Brooks elevendy billion dollars. Realized they didn't have that much and had to shed some salary.

Ha! My brother has been a season ticket holder for years. Which automatically makes me hate the Rockets only Slightly less than the Clippers. The locals think that Houston has another move coming. Whatever it is, I hope it fails spectacularly.

 

i wonder how fvv and dillon brooks get along. but houston definitely needs to be better in the short-term, so i get both signings. both are a year too long, though, reminiscent of mozdeng.

didn't like their return on toppin, either. he's worth more than 2nds, imo. useful player or future 1st.

Just read that FVV actually has a team option on his third year. Brooks contract is front loaded and declined each year. Landale only one year guaranteed.

So yeah overall their signings aren’t as bad as they looked at first glance

Not sure what their plans are if they do actually try to crest $25M more in cap space though

great details that change my mind about it all. i love fvv at max for 2 years given their situation. i like declining on brooks. i don't know how landale's 4-year only has one guaranteed (?), but the team option on fvv makes it make a lot more sense.

also makes me wonder why toronto didn't just do three guaranteed years at 100 or something. because as much as i like my man DS...he's NOT a starting guard, and they don't have anyone else to set the table. they're screwed.
