We have enough guards, I don’t even see where Beasley would play. We need 2 legit bigs, AD is going to miss time, you can’t have 1 backup only. I’m fine with Thompson being 1, but the other needs to be better than that.

I like Christie too and think he’s ready… but if Malik Beasley tells me he’s willing to come back for the minimum (or some other very cheap offer that doesn’t affect my ability to retain DLo/Reaves and sign a few big men), I’m not going to tell him no

    The plan
    2 slots left after that
    Lakers: Vincent > DS
    Ham: DS > Vincent
    Mo is an option, still
OK, how are you slicing that? If 3 Lakers are willing to come back? Tristan, Mo, and Beas.

I am only keeping one from that group. I'm keeping TT. I think we need the vet in the locker room and bench, he's still got a little game left. Then I look externally for the best available backup C.

I’d agree with that, but even if we bring both TT and Mo, we’d be OK. Let’s see if we can improve on it.

If all 3 of those guys were willing to come back for the minimum, but the FO only wanted to bring in 2 to maintain flexibility?

Yeah I like pencilling in Tristan as the 3rd string center, and then looking on the market to see if we could entice someone like Plumlee, Wood, Landale for the minimum to be our 2nd string center.

But realistically, I think Bamba might be the best center we could get. And I wouldn’t be mad at that one bit.

I wonder what's the plan in the wings:

LeBron, Rui, Vando, Prince and Reddish. Is Reddish gonna be a 3rd string? Great LeBron insurance when he rests, but barely unplayable when he does.

So...I'm sensing we are gonna play LeBron at the 5 again and that's why we got wings.

Reaves/Dlo, Reddish, Prince, Rui and LeBron when AD is out

I really want Landale. Can't see him getting more than the min, so it's up to us to convince him. Shouldn't be hard. Any backup C gonna play heavy minutes at some point in the season

No actual info here, but I’m going to speak it into existence.

Christian Wood is going to be a Laker for the veteran’s minimum.

I’d like to see us land an athletic big like Jaxon Hayes. Wouldn’t be sad to see Bamba back either. Bring back Tristan Thompson as the big body banger. Felt he was underutilized in the WCF.

Is there a way to sign and trade Beasley for a center? With picks attached? And still retain Dlo, Reaves and vet min Bomba??

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say, maybe I wasn’t clear, but we want someone to offer the 98m so we can lock him in for four years. If No one gives him the max now, he’ll probably take a 2yr 25m contract from us so he can opt out and go for a higher amount sooner.

this was my thought until I read that reaves might take a 3+1 if no rfa offer came. that would be incredible. spurs will offer, though.

i think it's funny that people are clowning the mavs for kyrie at 3/126 (a deal they had to make at a lower price than everyone expected) but praising fvv at 3/120 (liked it WAY better when it was a year shorter) and, even worse, bane for 200+ million (i just don't think he's a max guy).
