    Rich Paul retiring after tonight?

Here's the best of the rest

Such a different look on the perimeter

    Forgot Lewis @ 6-7
And according to his exit interview, I think Christie is at 6-7 now, too.

Remember when Pat Bev was our small forward and our wing defender. Not calling it an over correction because perimeter size reigns supreme in the league today but Rob continues the path of whatever the issue was the year prior, laser focusing on that the next off season.

Very odd day for Detroit. They got good value on two good players. BUT it took them out of free agency and both are redundant based on their current roster. They're A) have some other trade lined up. B) stockpiling assets to flip.

If it's B, I'd like to ask how that worked with Bojan at the trade deadline.

    If accurate (sourcing isn't 100%)

His time in NYC was clearly up. Curious as to the fit considering the direction they went on draft night.

    What's the holdup on Reaves?

No one has given him an offer sheet yet. Otherwise we would have matched immediately, who at this point has the cap space that can give him the max sheet? Spurs?

I'm honestly shocked they haven't done it yet just to spite us.

Pretty sure the FO has already expressed that they will NOT match immediately. They would wait until the last minute, which would be 24 hours after the offer sheet is signed (which can’t be until the moratorium ends on July 6th).

The point being, they are threatening to tie up the cap space of any team trying to sign AR for a whole week, in an attempt to deter someone from making him a big offer just to spite the Lakers.

Unfortunately I think San Antonio wouldn’t care that much if their cap space gets tied up for a week. They haven’t seemed particularly aggressive in trying to use it to sign anybody else. They probably wouldn’t mind waiting for the AR situation to play out. Worst case they’re left holding the bag with a bunch of cap space after most other players are already signed, but then they could just use that cap space to help facilitate trades with other teams. Absorb bad contracts to get draft assets.

We want a team to offer Reaves the max though. It means we lock him in and it won’t affect our outcome any way whatsoever. But if they don’t, then he might only sign a 2 year deal and we’ll be forced to pay him more over the same time period.

Only 2 teams with over $20m to spend
    Spurs with $41.7m
    HOU with $25.2m

I can't see Pop interested in DLO. Reaves, definitely. Are Spurs in the driver's seat to poach Lopez now? Will Rockets still try for Lopez or are they using the big chunk of that on Dillon Brooks?

    Hmm.

They're crushing it in free agency

I think they’re just dumping Oladipo’s salary to get breathing room under the second apron. I don’t think they could realistically clear enough salary to get the full MLE

Aaron Larsuel was on Irwin's live show that just wrapped and he was fairly convinced that TT is going to return. Not as the backup C, but as a 3rd stringer.

I think the Spurs are waiting to either sign Lopez or see if they can help facilitate a three-team deal that nets them some assets. Pop hates us, but they’re not going to sign Reaves to an offer sheet just to f*** us if there are other options that actually benefit them.
