Doc the way I look at it is, a 2nd meeting can only be positive. Even if he goes elsewhere.

At worst, it shows we were in serious contention, when we had almost nothing to offer. I'll take it.

Be embarassed at the basketball product we've put out the last 2 years.

Be excited for the possibility it won't ever be that bad again.

PP is with the MLE. DJ would be an extension. Both are okay over the cap.

Are we really upset that we have to wait till July 4th?? When I read that I was relieved because last year Melo waited about a week and a half to make a decision and Dwight the year before waited closer to 2 weeks. This is quick if we get this big guy decided by July 4th.

"Miami can only get him in a S & T, while renouncing the rights to Wade.

TLDR: Currently capped out (Dragic + Winslow takes to 66 million) --> D-Wade cap hold is 22 million (88 million) --> Must trade 18 million out --> Drop Wade's rights."

You can't compare Okafor's game with the big we don't have. And are screwing up the whole season by letting guys we need get taken, while now looking to get a good big. No matter how great our guard situation is. The bigs are harder to come by.

Makes sense, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Signing DJ would put them over the cap. Teams over the cap lose the MLE. How does that work?

If you are over the cap, you get an MLE to use. For them, since they're over the tax bracket, I think it's in the range of $3M, which equates to that $10M/3years or something like that.

For DJ, I believe since it is the bird rights signing, it is okay to go over the cap.

I understand where youre coming from but i still think we end up in the same position

We draft okafor theres nobody in the fa market or available via trade that puts us in a position to be contenders unless you think were contenders with lin/price as our pg's

With that said we'd still have to fill up the rest of the roster and it still doesnt guarantee us anything better than we are right now

We'll never know but we cant keep dwelling on things that already happened

We drafted russell we just have to hope that he becomes what we need him to be.

If we get okafor and hes a bust were back to a debate where some say we should have drafted russell instead

Its a never ending debate and waiting for what goes down in FA only makes it worse

Hate to be a downer but I don't see what this second meeting will accomplish. He came out of our first meeting with a certain view and I don't see how we can possibly change it enough to sway him. It's not like we made any changes to the team.

That was my initial feeling; damage control. Well, other FA's get snatched up, we'll waste more time with LMA. That's ok. A lot of time for development from Clarkson, Randle, and Russ this season. Works for me...
