He can pass. But keep in mind that Nash was coaching him and the entire year you heard how they want him to do a better job of passing and getting others involved. Russell's a natural at passing and better PG. Clarkson will be a much more effective SG cause he can score at rim, at will, when he wants.
I doubt Aldridge makes a decision today... I feel like he's going to need to sleep on the decision for at least another night.
yeah, I read something that said he wanted to make up his mind by July 4th, so at least this shouldn't last into next week
Well, they wouldn't "have" to be chasing secondary choices for bigs like Jordan and Monroe, still needing a 1st one, after LA turned us down. IF they had their priorities straight they could have resigned Ed and gone hard after the 3 we need and fill in the rest. Plus they knew they likely had Upshaw going undrafted for the dark horse backup defensive stud, and Black as well to help with defense. The back up bigs weren't going to be that bad, maybe pretty good. And our guard situation wasn't desperate. I still say if they knew LA wanted no part of playing 5 they could at least have done that for the start and then worked from there. This guy is going to be to us in the future I believe to be a permanent reminder of one of the most strategic blunders in their history, if he becomes dominant in the league for over the next decade plus. Right up there with D'antoni over Jackson and the injuries failed Nash acquisition plus Dwight Howard.
If Miami is serious about LaMarcus and they can use bird rights to get Wade...if I'm LaMarcus I'm seriously looking at Miami. That's almost a guaranteed ECF birth Dragic/Wade/Winslow/Aldridge/Bosh
Not amnesty but stretch. When Larry Coon was discussing possible ways for the Lakers to add both LMA + Jordan he brought up stretching Kobe so his cap hit is only 8M. I'm not hoping for this or anything. Kobe retiring a Laker means more than landing LMA. Just wondering why The greatest basketball mind currently in the Org. isn't at a meeting all about basketball.
I dunno if "exciting" is the word I'd use. More like, nerve-wracking. The draft was exciting cause either way, we'd get a good player. With FA, we can not only not get anything, but lose some of our good FA's. Anyway, let's hope that's not the case.
I'm confused by the new CBA bird right rules. Make no sense to me. Like I don't get why the Clippers could go get PP and then use bird rights to go over the cap for DJ. In the old CBA it was much more straight forward.
I'm no expert but I think something about Wade's cap hold, they will need to dump Wade along with his Bird rights. Where's Real or Doc when you need them.
Another thing I was thinking here.... Earlier before all this 2nd meeting stuff happened with the Lakers it was reported that LMA was going to have second meetings with his "top" teams. This could easily be just that and the media is spinning this in the ways they always do. Just spitballin' the last ounces of optimism I have left.
I'm on my phone can't copy and paste it, but I posted what they have to do a couple pages back of why they CANT do what you are hypothesizing.
