how does a guy like this get all the way to undrafted? because he's 24? all-conference defender and good shooter at high volume. we don't have room for him, but i'd probably have taken him over half the second rounders i saw go.
Definitely a head scratcher. Set the Mizzou single season steals record so he's no slouch on either side of the floor. Had to be his age.
Didn't recognize him. Seems a bit early to cut young talent, but I trust our team. I guess we'll see. One thing I'm not familiar with is if those are one year deals that must be offered year to year or what. I guess he has to make the roster then, and that means anyone can pick him up at any time if we don't have him under contract for the big club.
I think we determined last year a 2-way could be offered more than just one year .... is that right? Because we were wondering about Huff since he had one the first year in G-League and wanted to give him Swider's mid season.
Am not Handy or Lethal Shooter but like other armchair experts here I'll chime in with my unsolicited 2 cents. Left hand off ball way too soon? Seems an easy fix though as compared to Lonzo out of college and a graduate of his genius old man's coaching all those years. .... unless this was maybe a floater? Going to have to go look at his tape for the first time now since I've run my mouth. Nope .... on some clips you can see the hand does come off early and its kind of a funky looking release. Certainly can be improved upon. At least doesn't start as low as JHS's.
kcp is twice the athlete. that's why he was undrafted and kcp was a top-10 pick when he came out. well, this guy makes a ton of them, and i like the look of that one in particular--good elbow angle, high release, good alignment of eye/arm/target. at least that's what i'm seeing.
not sure i understand the comment. what i was really implying is that an elite 3 and d sg like kcp often starts out as someone people think has star potential, and that the udfa we just got is substantially lacking in something kcp has in abundance. the ceiling for hodge is more like maybe gary harris, i think? and even that maybe a bit high. still, though, he looks great considering.
Kid looks good out there, I don’t know if he makes the league, but I’d hope we’re able to keep him on a 2-way and see how he does in the G-League
