He probably gets moved for some depth, no other choice.

If the Clippers (or any other contender) wants to send out the necessary matching salary to trade for CP3 and pay him $30 million, they can go right ahead.

AND I’d get to maintain my hatred of CP3? Yeah I wouldn’t be too upset if that’s how things played out

How they were able to pull this off without giving up Ayton is hilarious. They’re gonna be a problem for sure.

It doesn't look like this 2nd tax apron is as scary as it was being hyped. Phoenix doesn't seem to be concerned, Golden State already said they were not worried about it, it will be interesting to see what the Clippers do. Of course we will avoid it at all cost.

I am not at all interested in trading for CP3. Him getting waived or bought out was the only attractive pathway to getting him. Just bring back DLo and Dennis.

Nah..I would still like to send D'Angelo to the Wizards for Morris and Gafford. We ain't winning jack with D'Angelo. I'm not all that hyped about Chris Paul tbh, However I'd take him on the cheap no questions about it.

    This is not NBA 2K.

Rosters and minutes simply don't work like that.

Huh? The Denver Nuggets just won a chip playing 6 main guys, and 2 guys playing spot minutes. This is the NBA..these guys aren't rec league players..you don't have to be super deep, with a bunch of great players, in order to win games, and get into the playoffs either.

Do I really have to explain basketball to you here?

Denver had a rare healthy post-season because they took the final couple months off from serious basketball. It's why Joker lost MVP. They are a 2 star model with super high end role players. Joker and Murray both elevated their games and were Iron Men in the playoffs.

How are you comparing that to a 3.5 star model + NOTHING. Their lack of depth was brutally exposed in the playoffs. They gave up depth, assets, playoff experience, and continuity for ANOTHER injured 2k player. Ayton is only worth anything if Vogel gets through to him (you hate Vogel). Should be interesting watch you dance on that balance beam.

    Denver's playoff rotation
    Screenshot_20230618_193810_ESPN.jpg

They had reliable guys after their stars that could give them 30+ minutes a night and played every game. Suns core miss a lot of games and after those guys you have Payne, Bazley, Wainright, and Lee. Only one of those is a rotation level NBA player. They have to find at least 6 who can give them 15 minutes any given night.

    Not happening.

denver's bottom half of that 6 are way better than what phx can put together, even if they flip ayton for two useful rotation guys.

i actually think the loss of cp's leadership will hurt, too. kd and booker aren't leaders, and beal's never shown signs. they gonna sign rondo or something?

I don't think some are understanding just how limited these Suns are going to be

Was honestly thinking the same on the leadership angle. And I’m a Beal apologist.

Yeah. We will see but this feels like a lesser version of the Nets to me.

Dude..I don't need you to explain anything to me period. I was playing the game before you were born. These are just your opinions, I have no idea who the Suns are going to have on their roster, by the start of the season. Yet I'm pretty sure that they do have people, that are actually being paid, to make those roster decisions.

You guys kill me with this BS idea, that you are somehow, the only ones, that understand the game. FOH with that nonsense.

Guys get hurt sometimes, sometimes they don't. Every season is different, but this is league filled with the best players in the world. That's a strong 4 man core, they will be fine as long they are having good health. Just like Denver, and every other contender, including us.

f*** Vogel, he doesn't coach here anymore, f*** the Suns too really, that's not my team. However I recognize that they are going to be a problem if healthy, you can disregard them if you like..Again those are your opinions, not mine.

Yeah..we'll see about that..the roster hasn't been set yet. They can pick up ring chasers on the cheap, just like we do.

Suns trying to re-create the Nets Big 3. The Nets were pretty clearly the best team in the league when the three guys played together, they just never played together. Part of it was those guys being kind of injury prone, but Kyrie refusing to get vaccinated is what doomed them. That’s what pissed off Harden and made him ask out.

Neither Booker nor Beal are going to do something like that. They didn’t lose any meaningful depth by doing this, Beal is better than CP3 and Shamet sucked. Neither Booker nor Beal are as good a playmaker as Harden, but they’re both pretty decent at it. Durant is a few years older but he’s really going to coast in the regular season now. The Suns are going to be very f***ing good and hard to guard next season, I hate that they pulled this off.

Playing basketball and understanding the NBA CBA couldn't be more dissimilar. I know how to drive a car, therefore I know how to build a car. Doesn't work like that. No one said you weren't the greatest hooper of the 1800s and only old, out of touch sensitive has beens or never weres feel the need to bring up age or what they were doing when they think you weren't around. Whatever helps during internet time at the retirement home, I guess.

So because someone is paid to do a job, if there is a clear issue that they cannot address, we're not allowed to address it because we're not those paid individuals? If that's how it worked people would never be fired for being bad at their jobs.

We are not the only ones who understand the game. But YOU do not and step in your own s*** and refuse to accept or acknowledge it more so than any other individual I've ever come across when discussing basketball online in the 20 years I've been doing it just on this message board and its predecessor (since years are important data points to throw around for you). Instead you move the goal posts every chance you get. Hard to respect that.

Look at the games played from those 4 in the past 4-5 seasons. If you have a history of missing games to injury, that doesn't magically stop. Again, this is NOT NBA 2k. KD is old. Booker is a Kardashian and a whiny little punk who complains about double teams in practice. If he has a hang nail, he's sitting. These 4 aren't playing 40+ mpg for 82 games + playoffs. There's no depth and no means to aquire any. Spoiler alert: they're not going to have good health.

You actually can't be anti Vogel and pro the 3 star model. For this s*** show to work is going to require him to coach his a** off. He got a job you said he could not get. And i'm just going to enjoy my popcorn while you excuse your way out of that one. Just like with Westbrook.
