Yeah. I'd also like to keep Vando if I could as I think he's only scratched the surface of what he can do, but ultimately you make that trade if it materializes.

By all accounts the Pacers are looking to keep the Turner/Haliburton pairing. The Lakers opportunity to get Turner was last off-season.

indy signed turner as trade asset, if they were intent on keeping turner they would've extended him 1st before offering that max deal to Ayton

    Just posted their afternoon pod

    Beal
Stein said he thinks this Beal thing is further along than is being reported. MIA is his preferred destination. Haynes said Brooklyn could emerge as a team and we'll hear more from teams early next week.

    Zion
Stein said Pels are legit weighing moving Zion for #2 or #3 in the draft for Scoot.

damn, so everyone's first choice is miami now? if i was riley/the heat i'd much prefer to go after lillard as opposed to beal

feel like it's been this way for a long time, tbh. they're a bigger destination than we are, imo. not sure why. maybe no state taxes plus similar lifestyle/amenities? lower pressure to win/media scrutiny?

riley's done a great job both crafting a brand (miami is where tough guys go!) and working behind the scenes (and against nba rules in many, many obvious instances). i really think when rob took over, he thought he'd just become pat riley, but the league smacked him down hard on the paul george stuff. pat riley would have secured paul george and had indy feeling good about it.

still not sure how we let him go, exactly. i guess we had west at the time he went to ny? anyway, riley is a genius, imo. slimy, but a genius.

it's also hilarious to me that miami makes bad move after bad move and just instantly recovers. and i really think it's just that riley knows he can dig himself out of things, so he's not concerned about paying duncan robinson 90 million or herro 120 million or whatever. he'll just dump them for a better player!

how the lakers let him go? the players were sick of him and he had lost the locker room. remember, with riley it's his way or the highway and by '90 the players were done with him. i think the whole "santa barbara practices" prior to the '89 finals played a big role in that

officially he "stepped down" as coach after the '90 season but everyone pretty much knows they fired him. it was time for both parties to go their separate ways and it worked out well for riley and the lakers. don't think there was ever any bad blood between them. riley's always spoken highly of the lakers and has attended numerous alumni events/memorials/jersey retirements/etc. ask knicks fans how they feel about him and you'll get a completely different story. but yeah, no doubt the guy is a basketball genius

yeah, we should have found a way to get him back here. him being in miami has probably undermined us a lot more than west helping memphis, gs, and the clippers.

1/3ish of the season is lucky based on how it was being framed. I was expecting closer to 40. Hopefully he'll learn from this one

25 games is laughable and incredibly weak from silver. stern would have suspended him at least 50 games

i was expecting closer to half a season, but i get it. you can only go so far in terms of what happens off the court that isn't prosecuted.

With both Charlotte and DC under new ownership, I'm curious to see how they make their mark out of the gate. It's a little simpler of a play in DC, just move Beal.

    Should be a splashy summer.

Hopefully they're successful cause that will take them out of play for potentially Rui.

I was also thinking that with the Wiz looking to rebuild if they move Beal, I don't see them keeping Kuz and he'll be a bigger fish teams target than Rui.

So the 25 game is conditional.

So that will be near $47m lost from NBA earnings from stupidity. The missed games last year that cost him a spot on a NBA all team + this suspension. Not to mention the endorsements that he lost.

25 games is objectively a lot for doing something that did not hurt anyone. As others have mentioned he's losing a significant amount of money as well. I really don't understand the people wanting him suspended for half the season or more. Literally no one was hurt by anything Ja did in anyway. He's just an idiot, not a criminal. He's missing at least a quarter of the season, and probably more like 30 games from a best-case scenario with injuries. That might tank their whole season.

The #7 for Finney Smith works for both teams (plus whatever needed to make it work). DFS is a great fit next to Turner.

Yeah was going to say that. He justed flashed a gun, didn't hurt anyone. I think the punishment is reasonable
