Russ was and is the worst team sports player to go to the hall of Fame, ever. Russ shouldn't be in any discussion.

I would really be trying to get Dejounte Murray out of Atlanta with the 17th pick.Atlanta is in cap hell and have to dump salary.

So this was a surprise to no one, but the first place I officially heard it, according to the Kam bros (Monday's pod, I think) they said they have it on Intel they trust within the organization that Bron wants CP3.

I don't want CP, but I prefer him to Kyrie or what Beal would cost.

My interest/concern is this: are we talking CP3 + DLO, CP3 + DS, or CP + scraps and a rookie? Each of those are of heavy significance for how we go about this off season.

They gave up way too much for him to dump him that quickly for such a limited return. Collins and/or Bogdan are the assets they'll move to get their cap right.

Maybe but I dont see a lot of interest in Collins and his contract.Plus they are going to have to pay Murray after this coming year and even if they find a trade partner for Collins Murray is going to be north of 30mil

Also if the reports are true that the Lakers are willing to give up 17 for two picks in the 20's and they successfully do so then they would have 3 first round picks to offer Atlanta.

I buy that he wants him. Honestly if the Suns waive him and we could get him cheap then I could live with it. I’d think DS is gone though.

i'm more pro-cp3 than most. and i'm still not super pro.

cp+dlo=good. use dlo to preserve cp and hope he can take the important playoff minutes. this is the play, imo. can cp swallow his pride? doubtful, but he's about to be waived, so...
cp+ds=ok. at least you've got two credible guys to platoon the pg spot, but you're asking both to take limited salary and share the spot. they do have a good working relationship from okc, right?
cp alone=death. he just can't do it anymore, and if it's him and vet mins here, we're cooked.

still don't like the idea of letting russell just walk, but if you go the cp/ds route, you could keep beasley and bamba for both rotation and trade purposes, and jeanie would be thrilled with the payroll.

For the sake of this post, I'm assuming CP is a Laker next year...

I think the best pairing is CP and Dennis while using DLO in a S&T to address SF or C. Spilt their minutes 24 each. Salvage CP for playoffs and use him as your offensive coordinator. DS provides POA defender.

#2 is CP and DLO. Offensively, it's the best outcome. Defensively... oh boy.

#3 CP and DS while letting DLO walk.

#4 CP and scraps. CP won't hold up, scraps won't be good enough to get the job done.

I don't think Lebron wants D'Angelo back period.

100%, and I think this is the only scenario where I want CP3. With the reports that we’re exploring DLO S&Ts and our interest, I think they’re at least considering this path. Haven’t heard much about Dennis though.

Any GM who trades for Zion at this point would be taking a massive gamble. We’ve seen worse deals go down, but that’s just a really dumb decision if a risky one is really looking to put his job in jeopardy.

I’m not a big CP3 fan, but IMO any scenario other than #4 would be a massive win for us.
